Reach for the Stars

Hello hello and Happy Tuesday!
I hope the beginning of your week has been fabulous!  We're still dealing with some pretty bad air here in Washington...lots of smoke coming down from different wild fires in the state and British Columbia.  While I've wanted to work in the yard since the weather has been nice, my lungs have told me not to...so what better than to spend it working on cards!

We start a new challenge today at Tuesday Throwdown, and it's one of my favorites!  We want to see your Interactive Cards!  This can be any sort of interactive style from a slider, to a wobble card, anything you can think of!

And our most amazing sponsor this week is Newton's Nook!!!!!
(pppssssttt... Newton's Nook is having a flash sale for International Cat Day (August 8 only).  Use code CATDAY17 to get free shipping on US orders!!  Woot woot!!! )
I can never get enough Newton's Nook..and being on their Inky Paws Inspiration team right now means you see a lot of their stamps on my blog.  But they are just too cute, so I'm happy to flood my feed with Newton cards :)

For today's card, I actually had created this background for one of the Inky Paws challenges, but it ultimately didn't work with what I needed, so I set it aside to use for something else.  And then today's Tuesday Throwdown challenge showed up and it just seemed to fit perfectly.  I pulled out the Cosmic Newton set and colored up the cute little Rocket Kitty.

That background...I can't get over how awesome it turned out!  I used some distress inks in Tumbled Glass, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot to blend out a deep dark spacey sky and then used the same colors minus the black to add in Earth.  I brought in some white pigment ink to help give the look of clouds around Earth and that also helped to add the atmosphere halo.

I stenciled on a few little star bursts in the white pigment ink, and then did a little splattering of white shimmer paint before die cutting out my slider track.
And my little kitty can rocket out into space!  The sentiment is heat embossed with a black sparkle embossing powder.

I hope you will join us this week for your chance to win an awesome prize from Newton's Nook!!

I'd like to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Splatter It challenge.

Thanks for visiting! <3
