Magical Christmas

It seems I have a ton of Christmas card ideas swirling around in my head right now...but I haven't been able to fully get them out onto paper yet.  It's a little frustrating!  Do you go through that?

Well, I finally tackled one today, and love how it turned out!
This sweet image was a freebie at Pollycraft named Pixie Holly and she is so cute!!  I flipped her for my card so she fit the layout a little better, and used the sentiment that came with the image as well.  She's all colored in with my pencils.  I added a bunch of stickles to her wings and then put little white paint dots around her along with a few sparkly dots.

I messed up a little on the sentiment.  I had seen a tutorial where someone had lightly swiped a light blue marker over the sentiment to help it pop.  It looked so cool, so I gave it a shot....and smeared my sentiment a little...oh well.  It still looks cute  :)

Thanks for stopping by!!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Beer Monster

Happy Saturday!
Wanted to stop in real quick and share a super cute card I made this week.  I decided to try something with one of my Memory Box frames...instead of using it as a frame, I tried using it as just the background accent.  I think it turned out pretty good :)
I made the card a little bigger, so it's an A4 (4 1/2 x 6 1/8) size instead of an A2.  That helped fit the frame a little bit better.

I colored up this awesome monster image from Pollycraft Designs called Beer Monster with my pencils.  His beer glass has been cut out a second time and popped up with some mounting tape so it sort of sticks out from the card.

I strung a little bit of twine through some of the bubbles and tied them up with a little button.  Then printed the sentiment from Create with TLC and made it into a tag to tuck under the button.

The outside of the frame has been lined with little white gel pen dots for added detailing.  I decorated the corners with some coordinating buttons.  They weren't planned, but after getting everything together, there was just too much empty space around the outside, so I figured the buttons would work out well.

The last thing I added was some white liquid pearls above the beer glass so they looked like bubbles, and under the sentiment.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge #94-Anything with a B (Beer, Buttons, Blue, Bow)

Celebrating Mothers and Fathers

Happy Friday!!  How has everyone's week been?
Mine has been fabulous!  Except for this icky snow! (sorry for the dirty word!)  I mean really!...it's mid April and snow should be a thing of the past now!  I do pray that this is the end of that stuff and we can move onto a more glorious spring.

I want to say a warm welcome to my new followers!  I'm so very happy you are here!  If you're visiting and would like to stay connected, you can find my links over there on the right for Facebook, Pinterest, and Bloglovin.  I haven't jumped on the twitter bandwagon yet...something about it scares me...but maybe someday I will get there :)

Onto my cards for today.  Playing a little bit of catch-up..again :)  I had a great card-making day yesterday.  4 cards completed!!  And I figured, instead of spreading them out over multiple blog posts, I'll just do them all together :)

We will start with Mother's Day cards!  I've made quite a few of these over the last few months.  They are always so much fun to make!
This little sweetie is So Tall from Pollycraft Designs.  Adorable little image.  I thought it worked great to make as a mother's day card from a daughter :)

I colored it all in with my colored pencils and then layered all the papers together with a large bow at the bottom.  The border is my MS lace edge punch that I love oh so much (I think 90% of my cards recently feature that punch :) ).  I printed off the sweet circle sentiment and then added some blue liquid pearls in the corners.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
    Dilly Bean-Pastels
    The Paper Shelter #107-Spring Delights
    Send a Smile 4 Kids-Mother's Day
    Sketchy Friday #14
    There She Goes-Blue, Yellow, Neutral

Onto the next Mother's Day card:
I think this was my favorite of the day yesterday.  It's Spring from Pollycraft Designs all colored up and surrounded in girlie pinks!  My goal yesterday was to try and tackle some of scrap pile and get rid of some of it so I don't have so much to move.  These papers all seemed to go so well together!  I just loved that!

I layered 2 ribbons together and made a bow to stick at the bottom.  Then added 6 of those sweet little flower brads to the corners.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
    2 Creative Chicks #1-Mother's Day
    Divas by Design-Flowers
    Pattie's Creations #65-Make it Sparkle
Pretty Little Ribbons #21-Spring is in the Air
    Simon Says-April Showers/Spring Flowers
    Sweet Sketch Wednesday #201

And now onto Father's Day :)
This is one of my favorite images to use for Father's Day cards.  I think it totally reminds me of my dad, so it makes me smile every time I look at it.  Again, it's Robot Dad from Pollycraft Designs (I was on a roll with their images yesterday, can you tell?)  And I've used that fabulous MS lace edge punch again, along with some Twinery Cappuccino twine behind the image and tied into a bow around my handmade button.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
    Aud Sentiments #78-For a Guy
Digi Darlas #57-Take Me Out To The Ball Game
    Seems a Little Sketchy #36
    Robyn's Fetish #154-Anything Goes

Well, if you made it to the end, thanks for sticking around!  I know it was a long one, but this weekend will be pretty busy for us...as will the next several weeks as we move into a new apartment.  So I may be a bit quiet.  Please bear with me!  I will be back, I promise :)

For now, love to you all! <3

Girly Birthday

Happy Friday Loves!!!
It's been such a nice week!  The weather has been perfect!  I've been able to sit in my craft room and just play.  Vacation next week is coming very quickly and I can't wait!  But...I have been having non-stop allergy attacks!!  Ugh!!  Not sure what is going on, but it is super annoying.

So in between periods of manic sneezing, I was able to get this cutesy card made.
I thought the color combo on this card was pretty neat!  I never would have thought to use blue, pink and grey together but they really work!  Seems I have been using pink a lot in my cards...not sure why.  It's just been my go-to color lately.

The sweet image is Celeste Amberglow-Celebrate from Pollycraft Designs.  She was one of the last images added to the store before she closed shop, so I made sure to snag her up :)
I've colored her in with colored pencils and added some glitter details around her dress and the stars.
The little blue and the darker grey scallop circles are cut from the Lacy Labels cartridge.  I embossed the grey with the Swiss Dots folder to give it some dimension behind Celeste.  The large decorated scallop circle is a cut from Birds Cards.
The rest of the details are pretty simple.  I used my scallop scissors for the top and bottom grey borders, and made flags from the pink paper.  Then used blue and white gel pens to add stitching/dot detailing around some of the elements.

Added some blue ribbon and bow and it was done :)

This card is entered in the following challenges:
    Mojo Monday Sketch  #250
    Bearly Mine #44-Girly Birthday Card
    Digital Tuesday #169-All Tied Up
    The Paper Shelter #73-Anything Goes

Love You!

TGIF!!!!!
This week has just flown by!  Is it just me?  Not sure if it was the heat that made it go so fast or what...

Today's card was an instant idea that popped into my head when I saw the sketch at Sketches by Carly.  It was going to be perfect!  But after getting the base of it done, stuff just didn't seem to come together as nicely as I wanted...I was getting really frustrated!
The pocket went together perfectly!  I trimmed a little scallop piece to line the edge of the pocket.  The image is Celeste Amberglow-Heartstrings from Pollycraft Designs.  She's so adorable :)  I colored her in with my colored pencils and then cut her out with a Lacy Label shape.

Then stuff just stopped working...I couldn't come up with a good way to string the hearts...I had a different plan for the lower left corner instead of just another heart string...but what I made turned out not so good and didn't work into the card very well.

Then there is the other corner...I hadn't planned on putting just a corner bracket there...but again, nothing seemed to want to work there!
So while I do like how it turned out...it is definitely not as decked out and elaborate as I really wanted it to be...
But it's something different than just my normal A2 card...it's a pocket!
I even made a tag for the pocket!  The tag shape is from Tie the Knot.  I stamped the sentiment and added some paper and ribbon flags for added decoration.  I think the tag is awesome!  Just wish the rest of the card had read my mind and worked properly :)

This card is entered in the following challenges:
    Sketches by Carly #59
    Digital Tuesday #165-Tag It
    Cardmadfairy's-Girly
    Cardz TV #11-Anything Goes

Sending You Love

Hello to everyone on this incredibly HOT Wednesday!  Good grief!  I cannot believe how hot it is here in Montreal!  It was like 80 by 9 this morning...totally crazy...I'm so glad we went and bought a little cheap window air conditioner for our bedroom last night...
While I like that it is warmer now, I don't like sweating while doing nothing...I keep remembering living in Seattle and still wearing sweaters at this time!  Crazy how different the weather is from one coast to the other.

Well...sharing a sweet card with you today!  Even in the heat I managed to work this darling up!
It was really fun making this card.  I did a lot of different die cut border layering in the background...more than I normally do and it looks so cool!
The sweet little image is Blue's Branch from Pollycraft Designs.  He's just so sweet, perfect for any occasion :)  I colored him in with my colored pencils and mounted him on a scalloped rectangle frame.  The flower was suppose to be more red, but I didn't want to start with the red, so I started the shading with pink and gradually made it darker.  I love it, even if it is pinker than I wanted :)
I layered 2 ribbons under the image (really hard to see...one red and one white)...then made a bow with the red, laced some cord through the eyelet on my tag and stuck it all down together.  The sentiment is a stamp from Cardz TV's Encouraging Thoughts set.

Then I made my flowers.  The large daisy is a cut file from Birds Cards.  I rolled it all up and stuck a little bead in the center.  I tried making a different type of filler flower for this card.  That would be the blue ones :)  They are 4 petal cuts that I inked all the edges on, then crinkled up.  I think they turned out pretty good.  I'll still have to play with making them to figure out exactly how I like them.  Then I rolled some of my own roses and arranged them all together.
I strung together a few gorgeous stick pins with some of my beads that I have with me now.  Then shoved those into the arrangement for added bling.
Surprisingly...no glitter! lol...
It's just such a sweet card.  I absolutely love how it turned out and how everything flows together so well :)

Father of the Year & Wedding

Happy Wednesday!

Even though I have all my Father's Day cards finished and mailed out, I'm still feeling that pull to make more :)  So I worked up a simple one today...and I'll just save it till next year!
I followed the sketch at Sentimental Sundays for this card.  Like I said, it's simple :)
The adorable image is from Pollycraft Designs called Cuthbert Car.  I think of my dad when I see this image...he's a self-employed mechanic.  I remember when he took a leap of faith and started his business.  He was an instant success and everyone loves him!

I printed off the sentiment and flagged the ends.  Then punched out some stars and added them to the staggered flags at the top, along with adding some red stickles so they sparkled.
This card is entered in the following challenges:
Sentimental Sundays #106-For a Special Guy
    The Pink Elephant-Masculine
Tammy's Scrapin Corner #14-For the Boys

Phindy's Place #109-Father's Day or Masculine

Wow...lots of Father's Day challenges :)

My next card is:
this beautiful bride/wedding card!  I loved putting this together!  I meant to put a sentiment on the front, but it looked so good without it :)
I used "Bride" from Saturated Canary...I'll be honest, this is my second version of her...my first attempt at coloring her in turned out awful!  She looked like she had a very very bad spray on tan! Lol...
So I tried again :)

I added some silver glitter accents to her dress...I meant for it to be more of a shimmer and not stand out quite so much but it didn't work out that way.
I cut the frame with my Lacy Labels cartridge and embossed the white with the D'vine Swirls folder.  The paper is from Dracula Cat on Etsy.  I bought it for some birthday invites I did a few months ago and just love this paper!  Every time I look at it, I think wedding...so I finally made a wedding card with it!

I cut out the corner details with my cricut, as well as the flower and added some white paint and tiny beads to the center!
This card is entered in the following challenges:
    Tuesday Morning Sketches #150
Daisy Doodles #61-Here Comes the Bride

Robot Dad

Hello to everyone on this gorgeous Wednesday!
Sharing a simple Father's Day card with you today.
It's not very fancy...pretty clean cut but still super cute :)
I followed the sketch at Die Cuttin Divas for this card.  They require a die cut to be used on your card, and while I'm not sure if this will count, I cut the circles for my buttons out with my cricut :)  I don't have a circle punch and I'm horrible at cutting circles properly...so the only way for me to get them is to use my cricut!
I decided to try a 4 hole button instead of the usual 2 that I do.  It made them more unique and added that extra touch with the crossed cord and double strings running behind the image!
The cute robot is a digital stamp from Pollycraft Digital Stamps who, sadly, is closing up shop this Friday.  She has some great bundle deals going on right now so swing on over there and check out what she has!
I colored in my robot image with colored pencils and added some white detailing with a gel pen.

I made the inside of the card just as simple.
The sentiment is from Sunshines Creationz.  I trimmed the edges to make it a flag and then layered another flag behind it.

This card is entered in the following challenges:
    Die Cuttin Divas #68-Sketch
    Pattie's Creations #45-Father's Day
    The Poodle Parlour-Father's Day/Male Card

You Are So Sweet

Hello and happy Thursday!
I just noticed today that I have a lot more followers!  Welcome to you all!!!

Today's card...I am just in love with :)
I love the soft blue tone of the papers...and all my handmade flowers...and my first handmade pin!  For me, this is an elaborate card!  I know...there are much more elaborate and more beautiful cards out there that people have made...but I'm working my way up there.  I love all the Wild Orchid flowers that everyone uses on their cards, but financially I can't afford to continuously purchase those...so I have to make all of my flowers.  So the quantity of them on my cards stays minimum...cuz that's a lot of work :)
I keep telling myself to make a bunch up in advance so I have them...but I like to construct a card all at once and that usually includes the flowers...someday I will learn :)

The sweet image and sentiment are from the Sweet Love Set from Pollycraft Digital Stamps.  I colored it all in with my colored pencils.  I didn't realize when planning out this card that the image was square...thought it was rectangle...so I had to adjust a few things, but it all worked out :)
I might go back and add some more glitter to the flowers and around the image...I love it the way it is though so maybe not :)

This card is entered in the following challenges:
    Mojo Monday Sketch #242
The Crafter's Cafe #4-Handmade Flowers and Butterflies
    My Heart Pieces #1-Anything Goes
The Squirrel and the Fox #18-Best Friends
