Pretty in Pink

Happy Monday!!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!  We did a little shopping, bought a new little camera!!  It had a pretty decent sale going on it so we checked it out, loved it, and bought it :)  I'm so excited!!

So today we start a new challenge at Digi Makeover!  With October just around the corner, and it being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we wanted to take a moment to show our support for those going through that awful struggle.  Our hearts and prayers go out to you!

We also have a second part of the challenge should making an awareness card be something you're not comfortable with (completely understandable!).  The second option is Pretty in Pink, so using pink as your dominant color!  Pink is always on the top of my list of colors when I craft.  Not really sure why as it isn't exactly my favorite color, but it always looks good with anything so I tend to reach for it the most.
And of course, pink looks fabulous with grey, so I went with those colors for my card this week!  I die cut a few ovals for my card and layered them up on some soft pink card stock.  The image I used is Emma from Paper Makeup Stamps.  I just love her!  She was the first image I ever received from Paper Makeup and I think she is still my favorite :)

I did a scallop cut frame around her with an "out of the box" technique on the umbrella/rain.  Everything is colored with my pencils and then glittered with my glitter pen.  I used a couple wood chip clouds from Freckled Fawn and covered them with some FF washi tape as well.

The sentiment I used is called Any One of Us from Paper Makeup.  I thought it had an encouraging message, as well as fitting with my image.

Then I just layered a few ribbons together with a bow and stuck a cute little button in the middle.  All done :)

I hope you will join us this week!  Be sure to use a digi and check out the rest of the makeup artists creations, they always have fabulous work!!

Thanks for stopping by! <3

End It Movement

We watched a small video on Sunday during our virtual sermon with Eastlake Community Church in Seattle, WA.  It was about slavery.  A heartbreaking video to watch while it talked about the people affected.  What they are forced to do for the gain of another, how they are treated, and the living conditions they must live in.  It's wrong...and it needs to end.

End it Movement is shining the light on this awful issue-Slavery.
I really meant to have this posted yesterday, which was their awareness day...but for some reason I kept thinking that April 9 was today (wednesday)...So I'm a day late, but I don't think that will matter much.  Getting this information out to the world to help fight against human trafficking, sex trade, and slavery is the most important point of this message.

Visit their website to find out ways that you can help.  We need to fight against this.  We need all of you to help.

Colored with pencils.  All edges have been distressed with a light brown ink.  Recollections pearls in the corners, and liquid pearls on the butterflies.
The joy that this little girl is feeling should be the joy that every child gets the chance to experience.

Join the movement at End It.
