Thinking of You Sunflower Card

Can you tell I've been busy today? :)
It was a great day to craft!  Nice and cool here in Montreal with the rain, so I had the doors open and my headphones blasting!  Music always keeps me moving.
For this card I dove into the challenges!  I wrote all of them down that I could find and then starting thinking about what I wanted to do and how many of the challenges I could fulfill.  It was a lot of fun!  And I love the card!  It's quite thick, so it won't be one I mail out to anyone :)  But I still love it!
Several challenges I came across were for buttons, which is something that I rarely use on my cards.  Mostly because I don't really have any!  But I searched through all of my embellishments and I found a few!  I don't remember why I bought these sunflower buttons, but they seemed to be perfect for the card I wanted to make.
The wheelbarrow is from the Cricut Walk in My Garden cartridge.  The sunflowers I made myself from a few of my punches.  I love making my own flowers.  It's like a challenge all on it's own to try and replicate a favorite flower with just spare parts around my craft area!
I was a little worried about the wide green ribbon when I first picked it out, but I didn't have any other style ribbon that I liked, or thought would look good on this card, so I gave it a shot.  I think it worked out perfectly!  Anything thinner wouldn't have helped pull out the main image from the card.
As I said, this card is quite thick!  I had to triple layer my scotch mounting tape to make up for the "button" holes on the back...
The challenges I have entered this card in are:
    Fantabulous Cricut #79-Leaves are Falling
Bitten by the Bug 2-Wheelbarrow Challenge
Paper Cutz Challenge #110-Button Up for Fall
    Party Time Tuesdays #35-Anything Goes
Tuesday Throwdown #68-Thinking of You  (I had planned on doing the extra challenge of sending my card to Operation Write Home, but it's too thick to try and mail...I will be looking into creating some other cards to send there though.  Here is the link if you are interested:  Operation Write Home)
    Dream Valley Challenge #16-Buttons
    Critter Sketch Challenge #84-Anything Goes
Digi Design Make Your Own Flowers Challenge

Happy Scrapping!

  9. This is so beautiful!!!! Love those buttons. Here's a tip for you about them: Get a pair or small wire snips and clip the button hole off. I do that when I want to use those type of buttons. They make some really cute ones like that, but those button holes cause a big problem. I love that these are sunflowers. And they go so perfectly with the wheelbarrow of flowers. Thank you for sharing your card with us at Paper Cutz Challenge!!!!! Hope you join us for the new challenge. :)
