Falling in Love with Washi Tape!

I've had a few rolls of washi tape for quite awhile now.  Every other month or so I'll think of a card to use them on...but it seemed to be pretty rare.

Until our new challenge came up this week for Tuesday Throwdown.  Our fabulous sponsor this week is The Twinery, and the theme is to make your own background.  Is there anything that goes together better than washi tape and twine!?  So I set out to try and create something that used both of them...and my love for washi tape began.  And twine!  Man, that stuff is awesome!
Making this card was so much fun!  This pretty much shows my complete collection of washi tape...I have a pink polka dot as well but it didn't really coordinate all that great with the others.  So I need to desperately work on my stock because this stuff rocks!  It's so fun, and easy to!  And my favorite was that if I messed up, I could just pull it off and try again!  Lol :)

Anyhow, I took a little inspiration from some cards on The Twinery's blog and cut out some circles in my washi tape background.  That whole panel is affixed with mounting tape so it stands off the blue background and helps the twine stay level with the washi tape.  The Twinery provided us with a fabulous little package of their yummy twine, so I chose colors that coordinated well with my washi tape.  Then just globbed some glue down in the circles and spiraled up the twine!  I added matching gems to the centers to help cover up the frayed ends of the twine.

I printed the sentiment, which is from Create with TLC (works so well with this background) and then used a spellbinders die to cut it out and frame it with the light blue card stock.

I absolutely love how this card turned out!  It's so bright and fun.  And I love the twine circles.  And the washi tape!  New obsessions have been made :)

Be sure to stop by and visit the rest of the design teams to see their fabulous backgrounds!  Then come back and join in the fun!  Just remember to use a stamp (digi or rubber), and link up to 3 creations!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
    Ruby's Rainbow #52-Round and Round
    Whoopsi Daisy-Use Circles
    Word Art Wednesday #76-Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by!
