After cleaning the apartment today, I
Finally I just went back to my desk and stared at my supplies, willing something to form in my brain. And form it did! I don't normally do tags...they aren't my focus and I never know what to do with them once they are finished...but I really wanted to try. And what better image to use than my beloved Saturated Canary?? :)
There is a good chance that I own 90% of the images available in her store :) I sifted through them, trying to decide which image would work best on a tag, something general enough that it could be Christmas, but not too Christmas themed so it could be versatile...does that make sense?
So I chose Jules! Just love this image with the cute little kitty tucked in her arms and that big swirly hair! So adorable.
I dug into my stash and found this absolutely gorgeous snowflake paper that I have had for oh-so-long..I think I loved it so much I never wanted it to get used up :)
I decided to stick with a blue/white/silver theme with just a few touches of red to bring in some holiday spirit. I found a few small scraps of glitter paper in the bottom of my cardstock folders and used those as backdrop panels. The silver mesh I picked up at the dollar store the other day and I absolutely love it! Took me a little bit to figure out how to adhere it to the tag...not used to using things that I can't put double sided tape on:)
I layered on top of the mesh a strip of swirly ribbon.
The snowflake frame is a gorgeous image I found online and I turned it into a cut file for my Cameo, and it cut out beautifully!! I was so happy when it turned out. I was a little afraid, there are some really tiny cuts in there, but they weren't a problem at all! My skills with the Cameo are improving!! Yay :)
So I cut out the frame and added a dark blue oval behind it. Then I covered the snowflakes in glossy accents and sprinkled some chunky glitter over top so they have sort of a frosty look. It's hard to see in the pics, but looks really cool in person.
I colored Jules in with my colored pencils and added some red stickles to her spots and stripes. Then I added a large bow and put a plastic snowflake in the middle (also a dollar store find!).
The final touch was punching the hole at the top, adding the ribbon and covering up the staple with another plastic snowflake.
I just love the way this tag turned out. It's so sparkly and really has that snowy winter feel to it. And it's just gorgeous :)

ReplyDeleteFor not creating tags very often you sure did a beautiful job on this one. The blues and silvers are so pretty together and Jules is one of Krista's cutest images. Thanks so much for sharing this with us this week at TSG!
