Shaking Slider! - Final Newton's Nook Post

Hello and happy snowy Monday!!
I knew snow was in the forecast for this weekend but waking up to a good inch of it on the ground was a surprise! Everything looked like it was covered with dippin dots! Don't get me wrong...I LOVE snow...but I'm also kind of ready to start working in my yard to get it ready for summer.. I mean...I have flowers starting to pop up out of the ground! Give me spring already! Lol...

Sadly, today is my final post with Newton's Nook. I have loved being their guest designer so much this month! Such an awesome company with amazing people surrounding it! I can't recommend their products enough because everything about them is heavenly! But I wanted to share a picture of my project with you. You're getting the full image this week because I created this card to go along with the Newton's Nook challenge this month to use the colors Mint, Pink, and Yellow. Enjoy!
You can read all about this card over on the Newton's Nook blog and the see an additional picture that shows the interactive features!

I'd like to enter this card into the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge!

Thanks so much for a wonderful month!  <3

Thinking of You

Hello and Happy Tuesday!
Time for a fun new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown!  This week we want to see your Favorite Embellishment!!

Our awesome sponsor for this week is Power Poppy!  Have you checked out their shop yet?  Wow...breathtaking!  I just love getting my hands on their images and coloring away!

For my card today, I have used the Spring Meadow Bouquet.
I colored up just a portion of it with my ShinHan markers and then trimmed around the whole thing to pop it up on my card front.

Right now, my favorite thing to add to my cards is the Nuvo Drops in White Blizzard, so I added a bunch of those to the frame of my card and also to some of the flower centers.

It's a pretty simple card, but that bouquet is so stunning!  It totally needed to take center stage on this card, that's why I left everything else quite simple.

Thanks for stopping by! <3

Guest Designer at Newton's Nook!!!

Hey everyone!
Happy snowy Monday!  We woke up to about 3 inches of snow outside and the entire Puget Sound area shut down :)  I love snow days.  Just wishing I wasn't fighting a cold so I could enjoy it more.

I am beyond excited to share that I am the Guest Designer at Newton's Nook for February!  I adore this company!  When they first popped up, I was over the moon for their sweet little kitty stamps because there weren't too many of those for us cat lovers.  Their selection and variety continues to grow and with each new release, my heart melts a little bit more.  Check them out!

I'll give you a few sneaks at what I created, but be sure to swing by the Newton's Nook blog to read up the full details of how I made these cards!  They were a ton of fun!!
I used the Wild About Zoo stamp set for these cards.  The fun animal print hearts were what stole my heart in this set, but I couldn't hold back from using some of the super adorable wild animal images too!
Thank you so much for visiting!! <3

Hello!

Hello everyone!  Happy Friday!
It was quite the surprise to wake up to snow on the ground this morning...wasn't really expecting that.  But it's been cold enough here that it is a welcome sight.  Somehow snow always makes the cold more tolerable.

We are starting a new challenge today at Sami Stamps!  This month we want to see you use Circles on your card!
I'll admit...I got everything put on this card and was working on the sentiment before I remembered that we had a challenge...so I had to rework the sentiment a little bit.  But it ended up being perfect to put it on a circle and turn it into it's own little embellishment.

To start the card, I embossed the background with the Simon Says Stamp Zig Zag stencil.  You need to have one of those rubber embossing mats in order to do this so that the rubber squishes the paper into the stencil.  I had to add a few paper shims to get the right pressure, but it turned out perfect!

The 3 little strips are cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles dies and then I did a really light swipe with some blue watercolor to get a brush stroke look for the background.

The images are Love Butterfly and Pretty Flower.  I joined them together on my computer and then resized them to fit on those little die cut stripes.  Once they were printed, I used some distress inks and watercolored them in, trying to make the flower appear white.  I haven't quite figured out how to do that, but I think this one turned out pretty good.  Adding a super dark shade to the shadow areas really made the white feeling pop.

I stamped my Hello sentiment onto a 1" circle and then clear embossed the entire thing with a double layer of Ultra Thick Embossing Powder.  Finished the whole thing off with a few Sparkling Clear Sequins for just a touch more shine.

I hope you will join us this month for our Circles challenge!  Just remember to use a Sami Stamps image!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More #227-Make Your Mark
    Freshly Made Sketches #273

    Word Art Wednesday #268-Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting!  Have a fabulous weekend! <3
