Happy Friday!
Stopping in to share a fun little card with you using another image from our latest release at Sami Stamps!
This card features the Line of Whiskers image:
The first thing I worked on for this card was the fence that they are all perched on. I took a piece of the Essentials by Ellen woodgrain paper and added 2 colors of distress ink - the first layer was Frayed Burlap. I used a lot of pressure with my blending pad to get the ink down into the grain pattern. Then I want over top of that with the Ground Espresso color. This time I used a really light hand so that it just covered the top detail.
I really wanted the light grain pattern to show through, and using two tone ink blending gave me the perfect result for that!
Then I printed out my kitty image and colored it up with my pencils. I just adore Sami's cat images! They always make me smile, and of course I can't resist coloring them up like my sweet kitties :)
I trimmed them out and added foam tape to the back. But before adding them to my card base, I used a diagonal brick stencil and added some yellows to the background, then splattered it with some water to get a bit more detail and texture. After that dried, I adhered the kitties and the fence down.
The clouds were die cut from a Mama Elephant Landscape Trio die and then I simply stamped a fun Newton's Nook sentiment across the top.
Finished the whole thing off with a little twine!!
Be sure to stop by Sami Stamps to check out this adorable release! And you have a few days left to enter our Anything Goes challenge!!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Happy Tuesday!
We have a fun new challenge for you at Tuesday Throwdown - Welcome Spring!! With all the flowers in bloom and the warmer weather rolling in, it's not too hard to find some sort of inspiration from your window. I love this time of year when the world comes back to life! It's refreshing, and hearing the birds sing and the frogs chirp outside just makes my heart happy.
Our awesome sponsor this week is MyGrafico and they have provided us with some super adorable images to use on our cards!
I used an image from the Lady Labybug set and printed it off super large so it was the focus of my card. Then used my Inktense pencils to watercolor it in. I'm learning that it is really important to layer up your watercoloring. I'm the type of person that likes to do it once and be done, but it doesn't always work that way. Watercolor needs layers..plain and simple :)
While my large flower dried, I worked on my background. I blended out a few light shades of blue around where my flower would sit and then took a couple of stamps from Winnie & Walter's In Bloom: Addie's Garden set and stamped them in black around the outside. I wanted to have the look of a nice large bouquet without having all the bulk of each image cut out and layered into it.
I absolutely love how it looks! The flower is the focal point, but the outlined foliage is the perfect backdrop for it!
Once my flower was dry, I turned it into a shaker! I only added tiny beads and seed beads since this window was super small. But I think that combo worked out perfectly!
For the sentiment, I used one from last month's Hero Arts kit and white embossed it onto some vellum before stretching that across the whole card front. I scattered some little drops of glossy accents all around the arrangement and that finished the card!!
I hope you will join us this week for our Welcome Spring challenge!!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations #155-Anything Goes
Crafting When We Can #118-Add Flowers
The Cat's Pajamas #313-Flowers

Happy Friday!
Stopping in quick to share a fun little card with you using an image from the Sami Stamps release we had last week.
For this card, I used the All Caught Up image and colored it in with my pencils. It's colored very similarly to last weeks card because I just loved the color combo...but this time I colored the kitty to represent my little princess, Cloud.
I wanted to have this sweet image sort of suspended in the center of the card but still attached to the frame so I used my trimmer and made about a quarter inch border around the outside of the card, leaving the string and the kite still attached. Then took my scissors and fussy cut around the rest of the image.
To create the background, I cut a bunch of yellow and orange strips of paper into rays and arranged them around the focal point of the kite. When it was all put together, it was a bit brighter than I wanted so I added a piece of vellum over top, but then it looked too flat. So I took a couple of blue pencils and added some sky shading in between each of the rays and that helped to give the whole background a little more depth and detail while still being soft and muted behind the vellum.
I stamped my sentiment on a thin strip of paper (I had meant to keep this attached to the image and frame but forgot while I was cutting everything out..), then slid that underneath the kite and attached it to the frame.
The whole kitty frame is mounted up on foam tape to give it some fun dimension away from the sun ray background. I did zero embellishing on this card. I didn't even add shimmer pen! As I looked at it, I liked the flat cleanness of it and I felt if I added any shimmer, it would be too much. So I left it off, and I love it!
You still have a little time to enter our challenge at Sami Stamps - Add Pearls or Beads. Just remember to use a Sami Stamps image!
I'd like to enter this card into the Cas(e) This Sketch challenge #169.

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! <3

Hello everyone!!
Today is a huge day for me. Today I released my very first line of greeting cards! This may not seem huge to some people, but this is something I have been working on for months.
The purpose of this was I wanted to have a line of cards that would stick around in my shop. Something that I could replicate relatively easily and always have it available for purchase. I love doing one of a kind cards, but those aren't always as appealing as a set of cards at a lower cost.
The details of this release (which can be found on Etsy):
~There are 10 new designs!!
~5 of these designs are available as packs of 6
~5 of these designs are special occasion cards available for single card purchase, but can be
purchased in multiples if desired
~Each design has multiple color options for you to choose from!
~I tried to keep all the colors close to the same from card to card so there wasn't a huge difference
in each one
~You have 6 basic sentiments to choose from!!! This is perfect for your grab and go, or need a card
quick type of situation
~Sentiments available:
~Congrats!
~Get Well
~Happy Birthday
~Hello!
~Thank You
~Thinking of You
~All the cards are blank inside unless you want a custom sentiment added. I do this so that you can write whatever you want without being limited on space
~Envelopes are always included
~The card packs are shipped in clear boxes within the shipping box to ensure they are protected while in transit, and you have something to keep them stored in until use.
This release was really spurred by one huge event for me though....
My application was accepted by Amazon Handmade!!! I am still working on getting that shop set up, but in the next few days you will be able to purchase everything I just released on Amazon! How cool is that!?
And because of Amazon, Scrappy Sweet Creations is now an official business!! I can't believe the huge steps forward this has taken, from just being something to keep me busy to my actual business! I love my job! :)
This whole process of getting the business running to putting together the card line has been a huge undertaking for me. It's something I've never really done before and it's been a lot of hard work figuring out the designs I wanted to release, making sure they had some sort of flow to them, and then putting physical products together so I knew what production time would be like and had something to photograph and post....it's been a good 3 months of working on this, but I'm so glad it all came together.
And I'm thankful to you...each and every one of you...for sticking by my side, showing your support and giving me the little boosts I needed to keep pushing forward. I love you all!!
So, after all that are you ready to see the release?? I'm only going to show you a few cards...you have to go to my Etsy shop (or Amazon when that is set up) to see the full release!
I'm so excited! And I hope with this greeting card release, you will see something you really want to have. That's what I'm here for, to provide you with handmade greeting cards that are perfect for every situation. Everyone loves to receive handmade cards and I hope that you will think of me when you need one :)
Thank you so much!!! <3

Happy Friday!!
I am so excited for today! First off, we have a fabulous new release from Sami Stamps and the start of our new challenge to add Pearls or Beads to your projects. Second off, I am finally releasing my greeting card line today! It has been a long journey to get this line put together...a lot of stress and a few grey hairs. But I'm so happy it's done! Now I just need to get everything photographed and posted online! Plus!! I will be opening up my Amazon Handmade shop in the next few days as well!! Woohoo!! I was ecstatic when they accepted my application and now that I have this release completed, I feel comfortable opening that up! I can't wait! There will be another post and more details on everything once I get it all put together and loaded to my shops, so be sure to check back here in the next day or two so you don't miss out!!
But now, back to this gorgeous Sami Stamps release! This one is call Ladybugs and Buds and is so perfect! With all the flowers coming up, I can't wait for everything to bloom! The weather here has been amazing which means lots of fun work in the yard! That made putting this card together a breeze since there is so much inspiration around us now.
I have used the Ladybug Bud image for my card. It's the absolute perfect image for simple cards. It has the perfect sweetness and I just adore it. I colored it in with my markers and layered it onto a piece of vellum. Of course, I managed to smudge something on it in my haste...that always seems to happen. But fortunately our challenge this month is to add pearls or beads to your projects. So strategic placement of those pearls help cover up my boo-boo...and no one will ever know (except you..shh don't tell :) ).
I hope you will join us for our new challenge. Be sure to check out this release at Sami Stamps!!

Happy Friday!!
I hope your week has been fabulous and you are ready for the weekend! We had a crazy day here yesterday. Apparently a large wind storm blew through Washington Wednesday night. We weren't aware of it...until Thursday morning around 6:30 when our neighbors giant tree cracked out of the ground and knocked over the power lines! I'm not sure I've ever jumped out of bed that quick...ok maybe one other time because of a super large spider...
Needless to say, we were without power for about 15 hours...which made for a pretty boring day yesterday since it rained most of the day too so I couldn't work outside. I'm so happy and thankful for our electric crews that I'm sure had an insanely busy day yesterday. So very glad to have power back :)
With that, I wanted to share a card I created with an image from our most recent release with Sami Stamps!
I started my card by creating my background. I had originally created this background on black paper with soft colored embossing paste. It turned out okay, but the colors were much more muted than I wanted so I switched to a white background and sponged the colors on.
I've used Broken China, Squeezed Lemonade, and Spun Sugar to get that fabulous spring colored background. It turned out so super cute, I just adore it!
After printing off my Easter Pile image, I sent it through my die cut machine to cut it into a tag shape. Then colored it up with my markers. I used chalk to get the blue sky since my super light blue ShinHan markers have dried up and I haven't had the chance to replace them. I framed the tag with a scallop cut piece of vellum and then tied a few ribbons through the top. I white heat embossed a fun sentiment on some black cardstock and added a die cut stitch along the top and bottom with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders dies.
A few Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and the card was done! So super sweet! I hope you will check out this release from Sami Stamps! It just makes me smile :)
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge #164-Spring
Artistic Inspirations #151-Anything Goes
Caseology #188-Laugh

Happy Friday!!
Oh boy...do we have a super cute release for you today at Sami Stamps! It's called Round Easter Friends and adorable doesn't even begin to describe how cute they are!!
I've chosen to use the Sweet Carrot Bunny image for my card:
I decided to make a spinner card with this image! He just looked like he needed to be on the move. I started by first creating a watercolored background by just dropping some colors onto a wet piece of watercolor paper. I'm a fussy painter so of course I couldn't just let it sit and do it's own thing. I had to mess around and move the colors till I felt like they were how I wanted them.
Once that was dry, I took the Lots of Dots stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and created a bokeh look over top of the watercoloring. This helped mute down the bright colors and give it more detail and texture. I purposefully left some areas empty so that some of the bright color would peak through and add some variance to it all.
When that was done, I created my scallop frame with my Silhouette and cut out the openings from my card base and the watercolor panel. I colored up my sweet little bunny with some pencils and then attached him to the string in the center of my window. I learned that stronger thicker string works better...if the string is too whimpy, it won't stay nice and tight with the weight of the image.
I chose a fun sentiment from the For the Record stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and embossed that below my spinning bunny. Then added a few dots of glossy accents and the card was done!
We are starting a fun new challenge today at Sami Stamps - Add Stitching (real or faux). I hope you will join us! Just be sure to use a Sami Stamps image!

Happy Happy Friday!!!
This has been a stressful week for me. Lots of stuff running through my brain and changes I'm trying to work on. It's a little overwhelming and sometimes I want to just curl up on the couch and quit, but I love this job too much to give up. But at least it will be the weekend soon and I can spend some time cuddling my hubby :)
I spent a little time this week working on a card using one of the newest Sami Stamps release images. It's also the last week for our current challenge - Add Sparkle - and the last week for you to purchase at least $4 in stamps from Sami Stamps and be entered into a drawing to win %15 off every order you place in 2016. Sounds like a great deal, so don't miss out!!
For my card, I've used the super cute Winter Sweater image.
While thinking up a layout for this card, I decided I wanted to do some sort of simple design in the background. I love to come up with my own backgrounds and designs, so this was the perfect opportunity for that! Since it is a winter image, something swirly would work well! I created a cut file in my Silhouette software and then changed the line style to a dash. I loved the swirl design, but wanted it to just be the pattern on the paper, not an actual cutout and I thought the dash would be cute.
I wanted to highlight that pattern a little but wasn't sure what ink would do, so I started super light. I think because the Silhouette is just a blade that cuts the paper, instead of like a die that presses into and cuts the paper, those little dashes are raised just a little and catch more of the ink. So a super light pass actually highlighted them perfectly! So I left it like that and moved on to my image.
I printed it off twice so that I could cut out the sweet girl and layer her onto the inked up background. I used my ShinHan markers to color her and added a ton of shimmer to her scarf and hand mitt thing. There is also a bunch of sparkle on the snowflakes in the sky and on the background.
The sentiment is from My Cat's Pajamas, and I've heat embossed it in Liquid Platinum onto some sparkle vellum. A few sequins scattered around the card, and it was done!!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
AAA Cards #56-Winter Wonderland
Addicted to Stamps #177-Make Your Mark
Crafty Catz #308-Girls Just Want to Have Fun
Sketch Saturday #395

Happy Friday!
I'm so happy the weekend is here! This has been a very long, tiring week...not sure why. I've just struggled a lot getting out of bed and staying motivated. Hopefully I can find my strength over the weekend and be refreshed for next week :)
We have another absolutely adorable release for you today at Sami Stamps called Lovely Snowflakes! Sami just keeps knocking my socks off with her cute images! I couldn't resist playing with Curious Snowflake Kitten...of course :)
Isn't she just so adorable! I just want to scoop her up, scarf and all, off the card and cuddle her! Fortunately, since I colored her in like my sweet Cloud, I can cuddle the real thing :)
I started by stamping a random pattern of snowflakes and clear heat embossing them. Then used Stormy Sky, Broken China, and Tumbled Glass to get a nice soft winter sky look around those snowflakes. I splattered some water around to get the really cool water drop look and then took that panel and ironed off all the embossing powder. I'm not sure if it's the type of powder I have, but once all the melted stuff was gone, what was left on each of the snowflakes was a soft shimmer. Looks so cool!!
To finish off the details of the snowy background, I took my Marvey Snow Marker and added little dots to fill in some of the spaces between the snowflakes, then heat it so those little dots puffed up! It's so fun to watch that happen :)
My image was colored in with pencils. Super simple coloring to keep the image soft. I added a little more of the same ink colors around the top of the image panel and then framed it with a scallop trimmed frame. I added a little sentiment in the corner and then put everything together.
So super cute!! Be sure to stop by Sami Stamps to see the DT's creations with this adorable new release!!

Hi everyone and happy Friday!!
I hope you've had a fabulous week and are ready for an amazing weekend! We're having a birthday party for Matthew on Sunday so I'm going to be baking my little heart out!
Today Sami is re-releasing one of her past image sets, and it's one of my favorites, so you have to go check it out! The set is called Butterflies and will steal your heart :)
I worked with the same image I used when this set first came out because I just absolutely adore it!
The image is Butterfly Flower and is so gorgeous! I decided to push my watercoloring a little bit on this one...it may have gotten a little out of control but I think that's what makes it so beautiful.
To really make it stand out, I did a no-lines coloring on the image as well. Printing on watercolor paper can be a pain because once you add water, the printer ink will smear. So I needed to find a way to get the image onto my paper without having to print it. I decided to do a transfer, which was done by printing the image onto vellum, tracing the image on the backside, and then laying that vellum (facing up with the pencil lines down) onto my watercolor paper and rubbing it with my bone folder to transfer the pencil lines.
Depending on how hard you push, you can get dark lines or light lines. I did this several times because each one turned out different, so by the time I got to doing this one in particular, my pencil lines had lightened up quite a bit. If they were too dark in some places, I just lightly erased them before painting.
Painting without any lines isn't really that difficult. You still apply your darkest colors in the shadows and make sure your colors go all the way out to the image lines to fill it all in. The nice thing with this technique is it looks more natural instead of having a dark black line around the outside.
I also did a little splattering with this image...as I said, it went a little crazy :) To get the bursts of paint coming out of the image in a few spots, I simply applied clean water around the outside of the area I wanted the paint to "bloom" and then connected that clean water to the wet paint. The water picks up that paint and spreads it into the clean water. I added more paint as needed to get it to spread as much as I wanted and then did a little splattering for more detail.
The background was made separately, and I did basically the same type of "bloom" technique for it so that it looked like the paint continued out from the image. Added a lot of splatters and then used the Zig Zag Dots stencil from Simon Says Stamp with some Wendy Vecchi embossing paste to add more texture and detail.
Super crazy card, but I'm so in love with it!! And that was a giant wall of text, but I hope you made it through all that! It was a lot to explain and I wanted to be sure you had the full details so you can give this fun technique a try!
If you do, let me know about it in the comments below!!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Hi Everyone!
Sorry it's been super quiet around here. We have been super busy preparing for a big vacation to Hawaii!!! I am currently on the plane so this post is scheduled :)
We have a fun new release for your today from Sami Stamps - Beach Fun! Such a perfect release for this time of year! We are finally seeing a little bit of relief here in Washington from all the heat. So the beach has been our friend this summer!
I've used the super cute image A Friend From the Sea!
Still working on getting my creative mojo back, so I kept this card pretty simple. Our challenge starting today is to use 2 patterned papers. So I pulled out this fun pack from Lawn Fawn and found a couple patterns that worked well together. I also stamped out a few star fish from the So Jelly stamp set to add around my sentiment.
My image was colored in with pencils. I used a border die around the outsides to get that fun x pattern. It overlapped funny in the corners and cut a few off, but I still think it looks cool!
Be sure to stop by Sami Stamps to see the rest of this awesome release! And don't forget to join in the fun new challenge!!
Thanks for visiting! <3

Happy Friday!
I hope everyone is ready for an awesome weekend! The sun is shining, it's going to be nice and hot here in Seattle again! We're going to pick some massive bucket loads of blueberries! I'm excited!
I'm also excited because today we have another amazing Sami Stamps release for you! This release is Shell Mermaids, and they are so precious! You must check them out!
I decided to work with the Shell Mermaid 2 image for my card.
I'll be honest...I struggled coming up with a card idea for this sweet image. My brain isn't quite back into the creative mode and I kept drawing blanks every time I tried to brainstorm. I eventually ran out of time and knew I had to get something made. So I used this fun Hero Arts woodgrain background stamp to try and mimic flowing water. I misted it a bunch and dropped water all around the image to try and represent bubbles. It turned out pretty cute, but I think the blues are little too dark...should have gone lighter.
For the image, I colored that in with some watercolor pencils and a shimmer brush. It was going beautifully till I got to her sweet hair...and I stalled...I wanted there to be curls and swooshy waves in her hair and I just couldn't get it to work out right...guess I'll have to try again sometime.
Since I was drawing blank on a good design, I decided to just keep it simple and did some zig zag stitching around the edge with a simple sentiment and some white glitter enamel dots to finish it all off.
Now be sure to stop by Sami Stamps to see the rest of this release and the DT's jaw dropping creations! While I struggled, they pulled out all the stops...their work is amazing! You must see it!
And remember we have an Anything Goes challenge still running, so join in that as well!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a fabulous weekend! <3

Hi Everyone!
Time for a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown!!
I am currently on a little blogging/crafting break for a few months, so this post is scheduled. Hopefully it pops up correctly!
Our fun new challenge is Friendship! I love making friend cards. Never a lack of needing those!
Our awesome sponsor is MyGrafico and they have provided us with the cutest images to use!
This card was way too much fun to make! I decided to try something a little different with my embossing paste..I added sand to it!! I wanted the dino's to be walking on dirt but couldn't think of a good way to do it. Browsing around my room I saw my containers of colored crafty sand from a previous project with my husband and the idea clicked!
I mixed a little bit of the embossing paste with a little bit of sand and then added a drop of brown ink to give it a little color. Smeared that along my distressed sky and let it sit for a bit while I colored the dinos with my pencils.
Once the sand had dried a little, I pressed some glitter into it so that the sand sparkled, and stamped a few footprints. So cool!!
To finish it all off, I printed off a sentiment onto vellum and clear heat embossed it. And white embossed some stars in the sky. Really love this card!!
Be sure to visit Tuesday Throwdown to join in this fun challenge!!
Thanks for visiting! <3

Hi everyone!
I wanted to stop in real quick and share a fun card I've put together. As you know, I love Newton's Nook. Can't get enough of them. So whenever a fun idea pops into my head to use their stamps on, I get really excited!
I had this idea pop while browsing some challenges and seeing a few sketches. I knew I wanted to use the kitty, but wasn't sure what to put next to him. Took me a day or so to figure that out, but when it clicked it all worked!
I love it!!! I decided to use the "pawesome" die cut from the Simon Says Stamp Playful Pets set. I did a little selective cutting so only the main parts of the word cut, and the very bottom stayed attached to the card. It didn't entirely work...but oh well. A little bit of fun foam behind it for stability and it all worked out in the end :)
To get that die cut to pop out a little, I covered it in some clear/silver glitter and then clear embossed it. So much sparkle, I love it!
Then I colored in my little Storm from the Newton's Antics set. After debating on a background for a day or so, I finally decided to just do some simple paw stamps in grey behind everything.
And to finish it off, I added the little friend stamp under the die cut. It's such a sweet card. I love how cute Storm is all tucked in sleeping. Love my kitties!
This is also sort of a special post because it will be my last "live" post for a few months. I have posts scheduled through April for my challenge teams that you will still get to see, but after April I'm not sure when I will be back. Some awesome changes are happening right now and I'm thrilled with it all, but it does mean that I have to step away from crafting for a bit. Thank you for understanding!! I will see you all again in a few months! <3

Happy Friday!
I am so ready for spring to just get here...who's with me? But wouldn't you know...it's snowing again this morning! Grrr...Oh well. It is still pretty to watch even if deep down I am despising it at the moment.
To help bring some spring into my day, I decided to use some fun pastel colors for my Sami Stamps card this week using the super sweet Whiskers and Petals image.
Yesterday was a very anxiety filled day for many reasons, so my progress on this card was quite slow. By the time I finished, the sun had set and my room was quite dark, which made getting a decent picture of the card a little difficult. But I think it turned out alright.
I started by pulling inspiration for the background from Kathy Racoosin's recent "starbucks inspired" card. As you know, I love watercolors, so this background was super fun to put together. I used distress inks in Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn, and Dusty Concord for the background and just swooshed them onto the paper. I dabbed and swiped around to get it mostly the way I wanted and then set it aside. As you know, watercolor always changes and gets better as it dries, which was totally the case with this background. I love it!!
I decided to add some droplets of water to try and give it some texture and depth. And it got a thousand times better! I'm so in love! I decided to use the same colors from the background to paint my image. Using my wink of stella brush pen, I painted in the flowers. Using the glitter brush made them super sparkly!
Since I usually do Cloud and Storm on my cards, I decided to change it up for this one and paint Ezio. Never thought I'd be able to watercolor Ezio since he's so detailed as a tabby, but I absolutely love the result! He's so sweet looking laying there in the flowers!
I finished the card off with a few watercolored butterflies that I stamped my simple little sentiment on and a couple coordinating flags off the side.
We still have our Add Green challenge running for a few more days over at Sami Stamps, so be sure to stop by and join in the fun for your chance to win some adorable images!!!

Time for a fun new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown - Shaker Cards!
I've been a little addicted to these lately...can't seem to move on to other ideas...but that's okay because they are just so much fun to put together!!! And who doesn't like to just sit there and shake the card once it's done to see all the fun bits move around? Lol :)
Our awesome sponsor this week is Sweet n Sassy Stamps, and they have provided the team with adorable images! I decided to use an older image in my collection called Morning Glory. I cut my panel out with my Silhouette and lined the back with foam tape after adding my clear transparency for the window. I almost forgot that part, which would have been bad :)
I added a variety of colored sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and Simon Says Stamp and then sealed everything in with a soft blue patterned paper. The morning glory's are colored in with pencils and trimmed out to fit on my card. I embossed a sweet sentiment in some silver embossing powder onto some vellum and tucked that behind my image to finish off my card.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafts 4 Eternity #218-Pastel Shades
Crafty Cardmakers #135-Spring has Sprung
Inky Impressions #201-Pastel Colors
Simon Says Stamp-Spring Pinterest Inspiration
I hope you will join us this week! Don't be afraid to make a shaker card, they are so incredibly easy!

Hey Everyone,
I'll admit, it's been a bit of a tough week. There are a few things that Matthew and I have been hoping and praying would happen, and earlier this week those dreams were, once again, squashed...It's been hard to just pull myself out of bed in the morning knowing that what we wanted so bad still isn't happening...and not having anyone to talk to has made it worse.
I'm thankful that I have such a wonderful husband. Even though we are both going through the same struggle, he's been there for me to lean on and I know that together we will get through all of this.
As I finished up my card for this week's All That Glitters is Gold challenge at Meljen's Designs, I tried to turn my mind to the positive and just smile...like this cute little hummingbird (which we both mocked because at the time of me working on this card, we were both pretty down, and he just looked way too happy for us...)
If you follow me on Instagram (which you probably don't because I haven't really promoted that at all :) ), you may have seen this little hummingbird pop up last week. I did 2 attempts at watercoloring this little cutie. The first one was just horrible, so I tried again and it turned out much better. Since the challenge is gold, I wanted it to seem like his wings were just fluttering off so much gold glitter dust. Not sure I achieved that, but I still like it.
I watercoloring in Stitched Lotus flower as well and then used a border die to cut off the bottom. I kept everything else pretty simple since there was a lot of watercoloring on the image. I did tone on tone stamping with a sweet little Lawn Fawn freebie stamp and then embossed the border panel in gold to match the hummingbirds swirls.
Be sure to check out the Meljen's Designs challenge this week! And remember that Melissa has decided to close up the shop so everything is 50% off! Stock up on these adorable images before they are gone!

Hi again!
I'm back with a quick share :)
I know, I know...I'm on a cat kick right now...bare with me. I just love kitties so much that I can't help but put them on my cards, and Newton's Nook is just the cure for my addiction :)
I had this card design pop into my head late one night just as I was about to fall asleep...yeah it is kind of annoying that my best ideas usually come to me when I have nothing to jot them down on...so I had to try and remember it till I could make notes someplace. Then it was time to get to work!
The idea came from remembering when I was younger and had new kittens around my house all the time. They would run and play in my mom's flower beds all day long. My sweet hubby was so kind in letting me purchase the new Gleeful Gardens stamp set from Lawn Fawn last weekend, and I thought this cute little daisy image would work perfect for my flower garden.
I did a bunch of masking on this card! Since the challenge at Newton's Nook is one layer, masking was a must. But who doesn't love masking? It creates the coolest scenes! I tucked my little kitty (from Newton's Antics) into the flowers, and colored him in like our sweet Storm.
My first attempt at this card was messed up when I decided to try and do a black glitter embossed frame around the whole image...which resulted in warped paper and a bunch of black dust around the edges...really irritated me. So I tried again, and this time just used a black Wink of Stella pen for my border. Much cleaner :)
So so sweet!! And the sentiment just makes me smile :) Can't help but think "aww!"

Hey Everyone!
Happy Friday!!!
We have another awesome release for you today at Sami Stamps. It's all about those Lucky Hats! And some kitties :)
I absolutely love it when Sami draws up some kitty images...they always steal my heart.
I have used the Covered in Kittens image for my card. Those kittens are just so precious! Of course I colored them in like my 3 little furballs...and stuck with a solid white for the fourth. It's so sweet, I can just feel the love coming from this image!
Everything was kept simple since I wanted the image to completely take center stage. I just added a few little gems and some twine, along with a purrfect sentiment :)
We are also starting a new challenge with this release at Sami Stamps - Use Green! So stop on by, check out the other DT's jaw-dropping creations, and then join in the challenge!!

Happy Friday!!! The weekend is here!! Woot woot!!
Now if only the weather were nice enough for us to get outside and do something...oh well..snuggles on the couch will have to do :)
I'm popping in today to share a cute card I made for Sami Stamps. This Lights Poodle image is from an older release, but I never got around to make a card for it back then, so decided I should do that now.
This card was so much fun to put together! It took me a few tries to get the coloring on my poodle image right, but those attempts were so worth it! I started with the background of the image, outlining the poodle with a really light grey, then going around that with a darker grey and blending the two together. Then the final color around the outside was the black, which I blended in with the darker grey to get a really nice halo look around the pup.
I colored in the lights with some fun bright colors, and then used a colorless blender around the outside to again get a halo, which I added just a little bit of the bulbs color to so that the lights looked like they were glowing. I kept the colors of the poodle very simple with just some really light greys. Since the theme of the card was coloring my world, I figured the poodle staying white was a good choice (and my previous attempt at coloring it brown was awful!...)
To finish the card, I found some matching cardstock scraps and cut them out into stitched circles with my Silhouette, laying them out across the left side of the card base. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawns Starry Backdrops set, which I heat embossed onto some purple cardstock. I also stamped the centers of each circle with the Peppermint Zone stamp from Winnie & Walter. A few clear sequins with a little dot of black in the middle, and some glitter brush on the lights, and it was all done!!!
Such a fun card, I just love it so much!!
Don't forget we have a sweet Anything Goes challenge running for one more day at Sami Stamps! Don't miss out on your chance to win some of these adorable images!!!
