Happy Wednesday!!..right...it's Wednesday? I swear I woke up this morning dreading that it was Tuesday...again...I mean, I had a nice day yesterday, but I much prefer to be moving toward the weekend instead of away :) Are you with me on that?
So we had a pretty big event happen in our family last week. Matthew's brother and wife welcomed their second little girl into the world on Wednesday! I can't believe it's been a week already! She came a day earlier than planned, but she is gorgeous in every way! We can't wait to meet little Clara Annabelle in June when we finally get to go to MI again. As I mentioned, this is their second little girl. Natalie is their oldest at almost 3 years old in May. It is going to be so much fun loving and snuggling with these 2 little sweeties when we visit!
Little girls always make me think of playing dress up! For this past Christmas, Matthew's mom made Natalie a dress-up box and filled it with costumes! It was so adorable watching her try on every single one of them and prance around the living room! So now that she has a little sister, I can only imagine the fun they are going to have some day!
That was the inspiration behind my card today. Sweet little sisters playing dress up together and dreaming of being in a fairytale. Take a moment and remember all those times you wished you could be Belle or Cinderella...ahhh...
Ok, back to my card :) A little picture heavy...but I love this card and want to show it off...heavily :)
The sweet image is Queenie and Princess from Saturated Canary. This is one of those images that I have had for a long time and never got around to using it. It was one I just longed to have in my stash so I could look at it and remember being young again. But I figured it was about time I used it!
I used some pretty rich papers on this card. Even though it's inspiration was fun little girls playing dress-up, I didn't want to use bright or goofy papers. I wanted it to more reflect the royalty of what they are representing. Thus the dark purples and black.
For my sketch, I did something a little different than I normally do. I took the sketch from Sweet Sunday sketch
and made it into an easel card!
It just seemed to work perfectly that way! And once I thought of that idea...it seemed to be all I could think of, so I rolled with it :)
Here's some side views:
In this one you can see that I tucked a small tag behind the sentiment so that there was a place to write a message if desired.
The flowers are all cut with my Cameo. The very small centers of the smaller flowers are a little tiny flower punch I have that worked well to fill the space under the pearls.
I used my MS Lace Border punch for the easel stand and tucked my flags under that.
The card came together pretty quickly once I got it all worked out, and I'm so extremely happy with it! Thanks for stopping by and reading my long post today :)
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Happy New Year!!!
Ok a few days behind...I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and a wonderful New Year's celebration! We are getting back into the swing of things after our trip to MI to see family. Of course, we were greeted so wonderfully by 3 feet of snow once we returned to Montreal on Monday at 9:30 pm :) Burned off a few of those holiday calories shoveling out our parking space!
Now it's time to head back to work and calm down from the holiday craziness. We start that off with a new challenge at Digi Makeover and it's perfect as it matches the scene outside my windows! We are challenging you to a white on white project!
I've seen some absolutely gorgeous white on white projects while browsing the blog world, but I can never seem to make one that stuns me as well...but I tried anyways and I must say that this card, I Love!
There is a small amount of color in the images...I used the cute little monster Baby Horatio and cut him out with one of my new spellbinders dies! I thought the shape fit him perfectly! Before I removed the cut out from the template, I used a little bit of light blue chalk around the edges. Can't really see it in the pic. I also colored some light blue detailing on the cloud, his spots and horns.
I embossed the background with my Swiss Dots folder and cut out the corners with another new MS punch :) I love those hearts!
Of course, this is a new card style for me. I don't think I've ever really made an easel card. I've been trying to think of different styles I could start doing to make my cards a little more unique and decided to give the easel a try this time, and I love it! Of course, there isn't very much weight on the top of the card so it just sort of floats there instead of being pushed down...but it's still awesome!
I trimmed out a few flags to put under the image and used my Lacy Edge Punch on the bottom of the top panel. There are a few liquid pearls around the sentiment and down the sides. And then of course the glitter! Again...hard to see in the pic, but there is a lot of it! Around the image frame, the cloud, the flags, the sentiment, the hearts, and the inside panel! Love my glitter and on a white card, it looks fabulous!!
After I finished the card, my dear hubby suggested making the sentiment say Sweet Little Monster :) I'll have to remember that next time!
Be sure to join us this week! And don't forget to check out the rest of the Makeup Artists creations, they are fabulous!

Good afternoon! It has been quite a day already...
Actually it started a few days ago..I've been having some pretty major headaches and couldn't figure out what was causing them. We were thinking it was my eyes, so started looking into where we could go to get them checked when my husband decided to check my craft room for any environmental problems that could cause my headaches.
Well, guess what...one whole corner was completely molded out!! We had this problem last year and thought it had been fixed...guess not.
So now I am completely displaced from my craft room...all my stuff is sitting on the kitchen table, which isn't really working for me.
Plus, I can't really use my computer/cricut because my computer is having lots of issues and not running properly. So I'm pretty much stuck using only the few die cuts and punches that I have to decorate my cards. You have no idea how difficult that is!!!
And to top it off...my printer decided to run out of black ink and I don't have any replacement cartridges...well I do, but they are the wrong number..ugh...now I can't even print images!
So for the next week or so, my cards may be pretty boring...if I even post any at all.
Think I will take this time to do some networking, visit new blogs and find some new challenges :)
But I wanted to share 2 cards with you that I just finished up.
I'm pretty happy with how this card turned out (printed before my ink ran out :) ). I struggled with the gray/lavender color combo, mostly because I don't have a lot of gray papers/card stock and the purple paper I chose was hard to match. But it worked out :)
The image is a new one from Saturated Canary called Butterfly Baby. It's my fav right now..really any SC image is my favorite...I love them all and have a hard time choosing which to work with every day :)
I've colored her in with my colored pencils and then covered her wings with stickles. This image is to help bring awareness to a very delicate disease. You can read all about it and find more information in Krista's blog post here.
I printed out the sentiment and used my scallop scissors to cut around it. Then punched out some stars, turned them into buttons and strung some purple twine into a bow.
One of the panels layered behind the image is embossed with a cupcakes folder. Wanted to add something sweet on there since it is a birthday card :)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafts 4 Eternity #91-When I Grow Up
Frosted Designs-Embossing
One Stitch at a Time #133-Butterflies or Buttons
Raise the Bar #113-Gray and Lavender

Sketches by Carly #66
The Squirrel and the Fox #27-Celebrate the Occasion
Stamptacular Sunday #183-It's Your Birthday
V's Sweet Ideas #4-Embossing
My next card I started working on this morning and right when I figured out the layout and went to print everything...no ink...so I stewed over what to do with it. Since I couldn't print I had to work with something either already printed or die cuts.
I used my Anemone Spellbinders! First time using that! After running the templates through my cuttlebug, I inked up the embossed parts with some pink ink to give the flower some character. Then I outlined everything with some clear glitter.
Punched out the side with my Martha Stewart Double Arches punch and lined it with small pearls.
The sentiment tickets were freebies from The Crafty Pad. I'm probably going to be making a lot of BCA cards...that theme just seems to be strong in my mind right now. I forget sometimes that it has affected my life too...my wonderful 94 year old grandma has breast cancer...I think I forget about that because she isn't actively fighting it. She has decided to leave it alone, so even though we see her struggle from day to day, I forget that a lot of it is from the cancer. I love my grandparents dearly and it pains me to watch them slip away from us :(
I just pray for everyone out there that is affected by cancer...of any kind. It sucks...period...
So, I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The last few days I have been working a lot more with my cricut. Seems over the last few months I have been drawn more to using images and other details on my cards, and leaving all the cartridges that I have just sitting in a container doing nothing. So I pulled a few out this week and tried to get back into the cricut groove.
I must say it was a little tough. I got so used to scanning through all the wonderful digital images I have and building around those...so to have to try and build a card around just die cuts was a lot trickier than I remember :)
But I think I pulled this card together pretty well :) I used the New Arrival cartridge for almost everything on this card. I love how the dark card stock really pops off the card with the light patterned paper on top of it.
For the banner, I cut out the squares and then glued them to the dark card stock. Trimmed them to the size I wanted the banners to be and then cut the flagged ends. The banners are then affixed with mounting tape to the card with the bows adhered at the ends.
The carriage is layered with a lighter pink card stock and a few white details. I added a thin pink ribbon to the middle to jazz it up a little more. The carriage is mounted on a layered frame cut from the Lacy Labels cartridge. The white layer is then embossed with the Swiss Dots folder.
It's such an eye catching card. I just love it!!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I hope you are all well.
Today's card is a little bit different style than what I normally do.
I tend to stay away from fun folds on cards. I'm always afraid I will do them wrong or they will look completely retarded...so I just don't do them. But I wanted to try.
I followed the sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp. It turned out pretty good. I didn't want it to be gender specific so I went with green and purple, but the purple took over a little more than planned. I cut the frame out from the Cricut Lacy Labels cartridge and embossed the green layer with the Swiss Dots folder. The image is Preggo Honey from Sassy Studio Designs. I colored her in with colored pencils and added glitter details around her eyes and the dress with a purple glitter pen.
The card opens in the middle with the frame and image attached to the left side.
I used a sweet sentiment from Create with TLC. I thought it was fitting for a baby card.
Not a lot of details with this card. Guess I exhausted all my elaborate detailing last week...I'll have to try and find that again...
This card is entered in the following challenges:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp #108
Craft Your Passion #112-For Baby
Tammy's Scrapin Corner #12-Anything Goes
Stampin' Sisters in Christ #141-Do Something You're Afraid Of (fancy folds!...eek!)

Hello friends! Happy Thursday to you all! I hope everyone is well...even on this wet and gloomy day here in Montreal...
I've been busy getting some work done since we got back from our small (but much needed) vacation. It seems I have developed a bad habit of making a card, putting it aside to post later, and then forgetting about it...
So this post will contain 3 cards! I can't believe I've been doing that! I noticed my little pile of cards was getting kind of high today and then realized what was happening...I'll have to nip that one in the butt rather quickly!
With Mother's Day this weekend, I was inspired to make one more card. I wanted to make one for the expecting or new Mother's since this is a special day for them.
I used the adorable Ice Cream and Pickles image from Saturated Canary. Such a sweet image. I wanted soft neutral colors for the card so I went with a peach tone. She is colored in with colored pencils. The frame is cut from my Lacy Labels cartridge.
Then I cut out some spiral roses and added some peach glitter to the tips. I think I'm getting pretty good at those things. I've learned to let them loosen or "bloom" once I've quilled them up so they look more open and fuller...the first few I made were quilled so tight they just looked like a blob of paper...lol!
I typed up and printed out the sentiments on my computer. Then added some white paint dots in the corner and around the frame and covered those with the peach glitter. There is also some glitter in her hair...just enough so she has a little glow.
The inside is very simple with the Mother's Day sentiment.
This card is entered in the following challenges:
Sweet Sunday Sketch #158
Saturated Canary #17-May Flowers
The Paper Variety-May Flowers
Through the Craftroom Door #25-Happy Mother's Day
Critter Sketch #114-Mom
Daisy Doodles #59-May Flowers
Kaboodle Doodles-#118-Honoring Mothers
Love to Create #14-For Mom/Special Lady
Paper Makeup #35-May Flowers
The Pink Elephant #147-All About Mom
Celebrate the Occasion #62-Mother's Day
The Cuttlebug Spot-Flowers for Mom
Tuesday Throwdown #97-Motherly Love
Simon Says-Sweet Tooth
My next card is for Father's Day.
I was attempting to follow the sketch at Mojo Monday and it sort of worked out, but the subway art (found at A Proffittable Life and available in a few different colors) ended up being so much bigger than I expected it to be that it left little room for the other elements. But I had to use that image. It fit so perfectly...especially for my dad. How many times have you heard all of those quotes? They are forever embedded in my brain!
This card is entered in the following challenges:
Mojo Monday #240
Paper Pretties-Use Ribbon
Crafts for Eternity #70-Maypole Ribbons
This last card was so much fun creating! I got the inspiration from a couple of cards I saw using the Taylored Expressions Green Acres stamp set.
One of our cousins is graduating high school this year. Makes me feel old...he was our ring bearer in our wedding! And now he's graduating!! Ugh...but he loves farming and plans to make that his life...so when I saw the Green Acres stamp set, it sparked some ideas. I cut out the tractor from the My World cartridge and then cut some hay with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, inked the edges with a golden yellow ink pad and layered them around the tractor. It turned out so cute! And it makes me smile :)
This card is entered in the following challenges:

Did you make it this far? Congrats if you did! This was a big post! Now hopefully I will stay on top of my creations and postings...not be lazy :)

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
My card today is one that has a lot of elements that I love on it, but I'm not sure how I feel about the card over all...
I really love all the parts of the card, but I'm not sure if I like them all put together...
I tried my hand at paper piecing...I think it turned out okay but I don't think the leopard print pattern paper I used was the best choice.
The black papers are both wonderful papers individually but I think putting them together just made the card too busy. I Love the damask paper, it was a purchase for some birthday invites I finished a few weeks ago and I've been dying to use it on a card...I'll have to try again :)
Using pink as my alternate color I think was a great decision as it helped to brighten the card up with all the black. The pink striped paper in the middle was from my scrap pile and it was the perfect size to place as the divider between the two black papers. I put a small piece of pink ribbon through the middle of it, though it's hard to see...
The heart frame is from My Grafico and I mounted it on a scallop oval cut with my Cricut Lacy Labels cartridge. I then embossed that scallop oval with my Swiss Dots folder for some texture.
The cute little giraffe I got with my winnings from Sketches by Carly a few weeks at Bugaboo. It's just such a cute image!! Perfect for baby cards. With the paper piecing, I cut out all the little hearts, colored them with pink colored pencils and then put some pink glitter glue over top so they sparkled. For the large heart and her tail, I spread some pink 3D paint over them and then covered the paint with some tiny beads for their own unique kind of shimmer.
I cut out some flowers in pink and the leopard print paper, swiped my pink marker over the bottom layer from some additional color, and then layered them, finishing them off with a pink gem center and glitter glue.
Cut out a small flourish, added some paint dots for some detail on both the flourish and the upper corner, and stuck a few pins in the flowers and it was done!
The more I look at the card...the more it grows on me :)

Happy Wednesday!
It has been a super productive day for me today. I got 5 cards done!!! That is amazing for me, I'm usually lucky if I get 2 done! (I get distracted a lot :) )
3 of the cards today were not very detailed at all. I tried my hand at clean and simple...very clean and simple:
But I just LOVE how it turned out! I got my inspiration from Christy's clean and simple card style at Tiddly Inks. I loved the idea of not having anything else on the card front to take away from the focus of the image and sentiment. So I gave it a shot!
I used the image Pregnant Pinup from Sassy Studio Designs. I just love their images! I colored her in with my colored pencils and attempted to give her redish highlights :) It was a fun change from the usual brown tones I use.
I didn't plan on adding the squares around the outside of the card, but when I penciled them in to see what they would look like, I just loved them. So I used my paper trimmer as my guide and tilted a couple lines around the whole card. Then added a few green and silver gems to some extra bling :)
It's such a sweet card! I really like doing this style card (I made 2 other styles :) ). So I definitely think I will keep doing them!

TGIF! I don't know about you, but this week has been dragging for me! I'm glad it is finally the weekend!
Today's card is very simple but oh so sweet!
The image is from Pixie Dust Studio and I just love it! Every time I scan through my collection, I spot this one and tell myself I need to use it SOON! Well I finally did! I was also able to use up some of my scraps stash on this card.
The pink leopard print paper I have had for quite some time, and I had made a box with it awhile ago which left me all these tiny odd sized pieces. But they were perfect size for this layout!
I colored in the image with my colored pencils...each time I use them I realize that my color selection is quite minimal...like when I make a pink card and want to color the shirt pink...but oh right, no pink pencil! Ugh...I will have to improve my collection very soon! But I did the best I could with what I had :)
For the heart, I added some glossy dimensional accents to it and then sprinkled it with red glitter.
I cut out the pink border using my Cricut Holiday Cakes cartridge and then punched the little holes with my eyelet tool. I strung a pink glitter ribbon across the top of that and added some red pearl embellishments. Then I did some hand stitching/doodling around all the panels and it was done!
Like I said, simple but so sweet!

Happy Monday to everyone and thanks for stopping by my blog!
Today's creation is one I have been working on for a few days...it's not a super difficult creation but I kept walking away from it or getting distracted over the weekend so it took a bit longer to complete than what it really should have...oh well! lol :)
I tried my hand at stitching...not machine stitching but hand stitching...probably not as pretty as it would have been using my sewing machine, but I still like the effect it has on this project.
Isn't that just so adorable!!! When I won the challenge over at Crafter's Cafe, I was able to choose 3 images from The Stamping Boutique. Well all 3 were fairies because they were just so cute! But when I saw this one, I knew I just had to have it!
The image and frame around it are cut from my Cricut Lacy Labels cartridge. I colored the image with my pencils...nothing fancy :) I cut out some small circles and made little calla lilies, then placed them around one of my pink roses.
Then it was on to the inside!
The invite part isn't anything fancy. It's the same frame shape as the image on the front. I cut a couple slits in the top and made a bow with the black and pink ribbon that I used on the front. I just love it!
I will have to keep playing with the stitching thing, maybe with my machine next time :)
And I think I am going to go back and add some glitter to the front of this creation...I was so excited to share it with you that I kind of skipped that step :)
This creation is entered in the following challenges:

Happy Tuesday!
It's wet and rainy here in Montreal...I thought it was winter??
Anyway, I made this card with the thought that it would be great as a birthday invitation!
I really like the neutral colors with the lamb. I decided after putting this card together to use a scallop edge scissors on the embossed panel in the back and cut the edges so they weren't just straight. But I had affixed this one down already so I left it for this card :) It's embossed with my Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls folder and then I inked brown on top.
I cut the circle from my Cricut Lacy Labels cartridge. The lamb is cut from the Easter 2010 cartridge and then embossed with the D'vine Swirls folder as well.
I hand wrote the sentiment on a banner. It's hard to see in the picture but I left the middle of the banner popped up off the card so it looked a bit wavy, but it didn't photograph well...
