Sunshiney Birthday

Time for a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and it's Birthday Party!!  Perfect since yesterday was my birthday, and the sponsor is one of my all time favorites!!

It's no secret I love love love Saturated Canary!  It's so easy to create with Krista's images and the inspiration just seems to pour out of them.  So I was stoked when she said yes to being our sponsor for this week!!  She graciously offered the design team an image to work with, but I decided to use a couple for my card this week.
I'm so happy with how it all turned out.  I've actually been working on this card for about a month now and it just didn't seem to be coming together at all!  But I stuck with it and finally got it right :)

The cuties I used on this card are Smokin Hot, Cali Girl, and Ani.  They all fit perfectly into the beach theme, and since I'm craving the beach so bad, I figured that would be a great theme for my card.  I die cut out some palm trees and then tore up some sand colored paper for the different steps.  I've had these beach stickers in my stash for just about ever, and thought they would work well on this card.  So I pulled a few out and stuck em on.
Matthew suggested the dolphin, which I wasn't going to add at first, but now I'm glad I did because it just seems to work.
All the cute girlies are colored in with a combination of ShinHan, Copic, and Spectrum Noir markers.  I love playing with those!  I'm working on building my ShinHan collection, but don't have enough to cover multiple color groups, so I have to combine different brands for a little while.  But I'm getting there!

I hope you will join us this week for our fun challenge, and the chance to win some gorgeous images from Saturated Canary!!!
Thanks for stopping by!  And don't forget about my giveaway here:  Birthday Giveaway

Eat Dessert First

Happy Monday!
Still time to enter my birthday giveaway here: Giveaway

This week we have a fun sketch at Paper Makeup for our challenge.  I love following sketches.  Sometimes my layouts get into a rut...so it's nice to look at a sketch and work in different elements that I wouldn't have otherwise thought of.
Since it's my birthday today, I went with a fun dessert card and a super appropriate sentiment.  The colors are actually much more pink, but my camera washed them all out for some reason...

I used the yummy ice cream image from Paper Makeup's So Sweet set and framed it in a die cut scallop circle.  Then flagged a sentiment from the Guilty Pleasures set that I felt was very fitting.

The two corner borders are punched with my MS Lace Edge punch and then wrapped in pink and brown twine from The Twinery.  I added a few pearls to the corners for some extra bling.
Here's the sketch:

Wedding Card Book

Before I get started on this post, I want to point you in the direction of my follower/birthday giveaway going on for the next few days.  Just click this link:  Birthday Giveaway
It has a really low number of entries...which kind of bums me out because, I mean, it's my way of thanking all of you fabulous followers for being here with me and yet no one seems to want to enter...anyhow, go over and enter now!

Onto my project today.  I needed to work on something other than cards this week.  Inspiration was lacking a bit on that front and I had started this project awhile ago and then let it sit.  So I decided to tackle it outright this week and officially finish it.  And I'm so glad I did because I'm so proud of how it turned out!

It's kind of been all over Pinterest lately to take all of your wedding cards and put them together in a book.  Since all of ours were just sitting in a large shoe box, I figured I would give this a go.  And with our 10 year coming up in just a few weeks, I thought it was the perfect time to get it done.
See!!  It's gorgeous!  I did my best to match my handmade flowers to the ones that were in my bouquet.  It sort of worked, but isn't quite exact...but I love them anyways.  I used a few of the card stock scraps that I have had for...yes...10 years...and made them into flowers, cutting them out with my Silhouette.  That's the downside of being a crafter for so long...I never let things go :)  But I always knew that I would want to use those scraps from our wedding on something wedding related...and I was right!  So I'm glad I kept them.
I used a piece of my grandma's lace under the image and for the large bow.  It just seems to match so perfectly with everything.  I also wanted to add pearls to the whole thing, but didn't have enough flat backs.  So I cut some pieces of wire and pulled out my beads and began making little pearl swirls with those.  They aren't exactly perfect but I'm happy with how they turned out and the way they add so much elegance to the whole thing.
I printed off the heart border from the Tiddly Inks Heartfelt Love digi set and lightly colored them in.  Then sprayed them with a silver shimmer mist and cut them all out so that the hearts would look like they were hanging from the photo.

The last thing I added was the little tag on the side of the picture with our names and wedding date, cut from a Spellbinders die.  This is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding.  We went out to the Gerber mansion after our wedding to take a few pics and this is the one we sent with our thank yous.  Can hardly believe it's almost been 10 years...and I still love Matthew more than anything <3

Gardener Gayle

Hello!!!  I hope everyone is having a fabulous day so far!  It's amazingly a chilly 59 degrees here in Montreal!  Quite the turn around from last weeks 100 that's for sure...but I love it :)

Just a little reminder, I'm having a birthday giveaway for the next week!  Be sure to stop by and enter here:  Birthday Giveaway

So, who is with me in loving all the Saturated Canary rubber stamps available now??  I don't have too many of them, but trust me, I'm working on it :)  I was finally able to get my hands on Gardener Gayle and I absolutely love her!
I had started working on this card this past weekend when our power went out.  So I tried to keep the card over all simple without too much fuss, mostly since I couldn't use the computer/Silhouette.  But I still love the layout and the way it all came together.

I used my new First Edition papers from the spring drop line.  They just seemed so perfect to use with Gayle, all flowery and garden colored.  I inked up all the edges in a light green and then added a double layer of ribbon behind the image.

The final details were some little paint dots and a sweet stamped sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

It's a Follower/Birthday GIVEAWAY!!

Is everyone ready for a giveaway!?  I haven't done one of these in quite awhile and figured it was about time!  Since it's my birthday in a week, AND I've finally hit that awesome mark of 100 friend connect followers, I thought this would be a great time frame to set it up for!

The only thing I ask with this giveaway is that you be/become a follower somehow.
There are 3 options:
You can choose all 3, or just one, but please be a follower!  I don't want you to miss out on anything here :)
Please no "prize only" followers.  I'd like you to stick around!

I decided the prize would be a few of my current favorites right now.  The first item is a little stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  I am absolutely in love with my Lawn Fawn stamps right now.  They are so darn cute and fun to play with, I had to include them in this giveaway.  The next item is a 6x6 paper pack from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  I purchased my first packs of LDRS paper a few weeks ago and can't stop playing with them!  The patterns are so fabulous and I love the quality of the paper.  Plus you can't really go wrong with anything from the LDRS product line.  The last item is a little spool of twine.  I never used to use any twine until I received a pack from The Twinery...and now I can't stop using it!  So I threw a spool in there for ya as well :)  (note: the twine is not from The Twinery)
Just use the Rafflecopter form below to enter as much or as little as you would like!  Once again, please be/become a follower.  Those options are listed in the Rafflecopter form, all with the same entry value since it doesn't matter which one you follow me by.  There are also a few other fun options you can do if you want to have a few more entries into the giveaway.

Thank you so much for all your support you have given me over the years!  It's taken a little while for me to grow my little blog, but I'm so thankful to have all of you along on this journey with me! a Rafflecopter giveaway

Fluttering By

Hello again!!
I wanted to stop in real quick because I made this sweet little card to enter in the Tiddly Inks challenge and then completely forgot to upload it!  It got a little buried under my endless pile of papers somehow...oops :)
Isn't she sweet :)  I purchased this cutie a little while ago (Fluttering by to Say Hi) and hadn't had the chance to color her up yet, so I decided it was about time.  And I love her!  It's so adorable, I just want to scoop her up in my arms :)

I left off all the patterned paper for this card and just used card stock and washi tape!  Amazed?  I am!! :)  I love the simplicity that it has, but the little pattern in the washi tape helps to add some character to the card.  Touches of glitter were added to her wings and I dotted around some light purple liquid pearls to add some extra shimmery details.

Thanks for stopping by!! <3

Miles of Smiles

Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!  We went out yesterday and picked 40 pounds of blueberries!!  Woohoo!!  Big plans for those babies :)
Then we stopped into a friends house and spent a few hours in their pool, it was heaven!

Now I'm all burnt and refreshed for this new week!  Fortunately the weather is supposed to be cooler, so maybe I'll actually be able to function and get some stuff done around here.

Today we start a new challenge at Digi Makeover.  It's pretty simple, just select a digi image and color it!  Then add it to your creation and link it up to the blog so we can stop by and visit you!
I ended up working on my card super late last night since we were busy all weekend.  But in the end I think it turned out pretty good.  Matthew suggested a sunset theme, so I used the Scenery image from Paper Makeup.  I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to color it appropriately to really make it shine, but it turned out pretty good.  Reminds me of when we lived in Seattle and we'd watch the sun set over the Olympic mountains.  Was always so gorgeous.

To add a little more detail to the card, I colored up Danny, cut him out and mounted him in front of the image.  I'd sure love the chase dragonflies with that background!

I added a simple brown bow and stamped a sweet sentiment that I thought fit kind of well with the images.  Then a few little paint dots and it was all done!

I hope you will join us this week!  Be sure to visit the rest of the Makeup Artists blogs, they have done a fabulous job with this challenge, I just love working with these ladies!!  <3

Life is Better With Friends!!

Oh my goodness...I completely forgot to write up my post for the new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown this week!!  Eek!!  Must be the heat getting to me or something :)  It's roughly 90 degrees in my apartment right now...not very fun at all...and that's with our portable AC unit running!  Ugh...

Anyhow, this week it's an easy one for you all!  Anything Goes!  We KNOW you love those :)  So make up anything you wish and join in the fun!
Our fabulous sponsor this week is MyGrafico and they have provided us with some absolutely, out-of-this-world adorable images to use for our projects!
All of these cuties are from the Sea Animals set from MyGrafico.  I just LOVE them!  I seem to be a little obsessed with sea animals/turtles lately and this set just topped my list of images to use :)

I tried my best to make up a little scene with all the cuties.  I think it turned out pretty good.  Plus, it was the perfect card to use my new bubble frame from Memory Box on!! (ok it's actually called Under the Sea Frame...but I like bubble frame more :) ) Isn't it the coolest?!  I added a bunch of glitter to the bubbles...a card is never complete without glitter :)

I also made it into a easel card.  Thought that worked out pretty good.  I used only one side of the bubble frame and it lined up perfect with the bottom shape of the card.  So they rest together quite well.  A cute sentiment from Create with TLC finishes it all off!  Love this card so much!!!
So stop on by Tuesday Throwdown and join in the fun!  Oh and be sure to check out the rest of the design teams creations because they are so fabulous!  Love those ladies :)  <3

I Wish for You

Happy Monday!!  That weekend went by way too fast!
I hope everyone has been able to stay cool somehow.  We are right in the middle of a major heat wave here in Montreal and it is not fun!  We did manage to get out on Saturday and pick 15 pounds of blueberries though, before it got too hot.  Now I'm just hoping my ac can help me stay a little cool so I can get some other stuff done around here!

So this week is my first week as team leader for the Paper Makeup Digi Makeover challenge!  I'm so excited about this next step and can't wait to see what opportunities arise with it.  Of course, it wouldn't have happened without the lovely Michelle.  I adore her and I'm so thankful for everything she has done, even with her crazy busy life.  I just pray I don't mess anything up!  Lol :)

This weeks challenge is I think one of my favorite types-tic tac toe!!  While the items that are often included on a tic tac toe board are common ones used on cards, we don't often think to put some of them together.  And that is the beauty of this challenge, to step out and combine different elements than you normally would!

First, here is my card:
I love how this card turned out!!  The pink and grey together looks so sweet and the image is just adorable!

So, now for the board:
I went with the top line.  All those sweet elements worked perfect together for this card.  I used the adorable Isabella from Paper Makeup and colored her up with my pencils.  Then added loads of glitter to her wings.

The flower was cut out with my Silhouette and I added a little pearl to the center.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC and I cut it out with a Spellbinders label, but only used the part to make it look like a tag.  Then added some light purple liquid pearls around the flower and the sentiment!

I hope you will join us this week for this fun challenge!  Be sure to use a digi and check out the rest of the makeup artists work this week!! <3

Tiddly Inks Love

Helloooo!!!
Seems like it's been forever since I've been on here!  That's not a normal thing, but the last 2 weeks have been full of...stuff :)
June 29th was the day of Matthew's Tough Mudder race, which was amazing!  What a great event, for such a great cause too!  We loved watching everyone there come together as one large team and cheer everyone on.  It was so awesome, even with the massive downpour that swept through half way through the race.  We all ended up being "mudders" that day since the whole entire field became ankle deep mud...but hey, it was fun :)

So upon my return home I discovered that Tiddly Inks is having a design team call.  How could I pass that up!!??  There isn't a TI image that I don't seem to love, and though my collection is a bit small, they seem to be the images I turn to most often when I need to make a card.
And the image I used today is the one that seems to get used the most.  I love it.  It always seems to fit my needs and is so versatile.  Plus, I just love coloring her up :)
See!!  I told you she's a cutie :)  This is Wryn-Close to My Heart and she's just so perfect!  I've colored her up with a combination of Copic, Spectrum Noir, and ShinHan markers.  I'm having a battle between the 3 brands right now to see which one I like best...so far, ShinHan is winning :)

Back to my card!  While home this past week, I was able to pick up a package full of goodies that I had purchased and mailed home to my mother-in-laws place.  Shipping to the states is much cheaper and since we would be stopping in there, it worked out best that way.  So the papers I used are from the Summer Sorbet line from Little Darlings!  They are so fresh and fun!  I love the sweet colors and adorable patterns on these papers, and they worked perfect for this card.
I threw in a cute little doily behind the image and cut out a small little heart as well.  That was supposed to go behind the flower, but it just didn't work...so I tucked it behind the image.  The daisy is just a set of punches layered together and placed on top of a triple strand twine bow.
I completed the card by decorating the inside to match and adding my sentiment stamp.  I realized after I stamped it that I could have easily put it on the front...but I had forgotten I had this little stamp until the front was done...so it went on the inside.  And is so perfect for the card!

After having such a long break from making cards...and honestly being really disappointed with what I had been making, this was a fantastic way to jump back into it!  I love everything about this card, from the cute papers, to the soft pink, to the absolutely adorable Wryn with her heart.  I can feel the inspiration starting to surge back through me and it feels so good :)

Thanks for stopping by today!!  I truly love that you take the time out of your day to read my posts!  And I know I've finally hit the 100 follower mark!!  Woo Hoo!!!  That means I should probably get some sort of giveaway put together...hmm...let me think on that and I'll get back to you :)
If you aren't a follower yet, hop on board!  You can follow me by adding your cute little pic to the Friends list on the side, through my Facebook page, or through Bloglovin!  Lots of options for ya :)

Have a fabulous day loves!! <3

George Washington

I hope everyone's 4th of July week has started out fabulous!  I'm still visiting with family, so this post is scheduled :)

This week at Tuesday Throwdown, we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and challenging you to make a creation featuring the stars and stripes!
I used a super appropriate image for this challenge-George Washington from Robyn's Fetish.  It was a little difficult to color with all the shading drawn into it, but I still think it turned out great.

I paired my image with lots of stars and stripes and punched out a sweet scallop border to go under the image.  Then simply printed out a sentiment and it was done!

Do stop by and visit the rest of the design teams fabulous creations for this fun challenge!!

Catch a Wave!

Once again, I am late with my card this week...I am so sorry!  We are in Michigan visiting with our family for the week.  It worked out best since Matthew had his Tough Mudder race on Saturday, which was absolutely fabulous!!  Him, Andrew, and Dan did a fantastic job and it was so awesome watching them do this race together.

But our challenge this week at Digi Makeover is Vacation!  Which is perfect since that's what I'm enjoying right now :)
I decided to use Dude the Surfer Fairy because he just looked like he was having a total ball on that surf board!  My card was kept super simple this week since things were kind of rushed to get out the door..but I did my best :)

I colored him in with my pencils and then added some sparkle to his wings and the waves.  The finishing touch was some twine wrapped around and tied into a bow.  Sweet and simple.

Be sure to visit the rest of the Makeup Artists fabulous creations, and then come on back and join in our fun challenge!!
