Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and a Happy New Year!  It's so hard to believe that we are already in 2013!!

The Tuesday Throwdown team is back after our Christmas break with a new challenge for you today!  We are challenging you to use bright colors!  Goes right along with all the new year celebrations!

We welcome back our fabulous sponsor Robyn's Fetish, who has provided the design team with some wonderful images to use.
I have used the image My Mittens for my card.  I loved the look on this little kitties face and new I needed to use it!  I've colored everything in with my colored pencils.  I found these cute little flower brads shoved way down in the bottom of my drawer.  They've been there for quite some time.  I remember buying them but must have completely forgot about them after that!  Lol :)

The sentiment is printed from my computer.  I used my MS Lacy Edge Punch and layered a yellow ribbon and bow on top.

I hope you will join us this week for our bright colors challenge!!

Anything Goes

Happy Monday everyone!
Another scheduled post :)  I love vacations!

We are continuing our Anything Goes theme this week at Digi Makeover!  I've decided to re-display one of my favorites that I've made since joining the makeup artist team.
I absolutely love this card!  I loved it when I first made it and I still love it!  Everything about it is perfect.  The coloring turned out exactly as I wanted it, the papers work wonderfully together, and the flowers are my best yet!

When I first shared this card with you on October 29, 2012, I had just seen a project by another crafter that had included the black sketching around the edges of her image.  I loved the way it looked, and since there wasn't a whole lot of black in the papers of my card, I figured it would be fun to try to help spread the black around.  And it worked!  Love love love!

Anyways, I hope you will join us again this week!  It's always fun to see what you are making!

Growing Up

Happy Monday!
I am hoping this post (and the next 2) shows up properly :)  They've been scheduled since I am on vacation visiting family in Michigan for the holidays!

This week at Digi Makeover our challenge is Anything Goes!  Super easy, especially during this busy time of year :)

I decided not to do a Christmas card.  I went with birthday instead :)
There is always those couple of family members that have birthdays right after Christmas and I always seem to forget to make a card for them...so it usually ends up being a belated birthday card!  So I figured I would *try* to work ahead and make them before the day actually arrives :)

I've used the cute sentiment Growing Up from Paper Makeup and mounted it on a bunch of bright papers!  I made a few star buttons with a punch and then covered them in glossy accents and glitter so they would sparkle!  Pretty simple, but so cute!

Be sure to stop by and join us this week!  We'd love to see what you are working on!

Hot Cocoa

Happy Wednesday!
I wanted to pop in here for a really quick post before starting my mad rush to get ready for our trip home to Michigan tomorrow morning.  It's been a crazy couple of days of crafting, baking, cleaning...all that fun stuff :)

Here is one of the many handmade gifts I am giving this year:
The jar is a layered mix for Peppermint Hot Cocoa!  I am all about hot chocolate in the winter...well all year actually :)  So making these up to give to family was a blast!  The cute jars are from Ikea.

I made a little tag using the sweet image Latte from Saturated Canary.  Colored her up with my colored pencils and then layered her onto a tag with a few overly glittered punched snowflakes.  I never seem to have enough ribbon to use for my tags, but I have a large spool of twine that seems to always work just fine :)

These all turned out so cute!  I loved putting them together!  They are going into little handmade fabric bags with some foot scrub or bath salts:
Pictured here with Lavender bath salts :)

I will be away for the next few weeks.  The posts that follow will be scheduled since I won't have a reliable computer connection while home.
I hope everyone has an absolutely Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!  Be safe, enjoy time with family, and remember that at Christmas-calories don't count :)

All Wrapped Up

Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!  We were able to spend some much needed time with friends.  It was so nice catching up, laughing, and watching John Carter together!

Today we start a new challenge at the Digi Makeover challenge and this weeks it's That's a Wrap!  You can use a present image, or wrapping paper on your card, or anything else that is wrapped!
I chose to use the image Moody for Presents on my card.  She's colored in with my colored pencils.  I added blue and red stickles around the presents, and some glossy accents with clear glitter to her hat.  I kept the card pretty simple, but added a snowflake flourish die cut with glittery snowflakes and a ribbon buckle covered in blue stickles with a bow on top.

Since I've been working on gift tags, I had my little Merry Christmas stamp already sitting on the table, so decided to use that as my sentiment and stamped it in the lower corner.  It works pretty well there :)

We'd love to have you join in so be sure to stop by and gather some inspiration from the other makeup artists gorgeous creations!  Just remember to use a digi!

Merry Christmas Clementine!

Happy Tuesday!
It's time to start our last challenge of 2012 at Tuesday Throwdown!  Seriously...where did the year go?  I feel like it just started and already it's done.

Anyhow...this week we are challenging you to use wrapping paper on your projects!  How fun is that!?  Sometimes the patterns on wrapping paper are so darn cute!  Perfect for cards, or a recycled project, or backgrounds to your smash books...the creativity is endless with that stuff!

At first I wasn't even sure I owned any wrapping paper though...our move last year resulted in lots of stuff being given away and I couldn't remember if the wrapping paper was included in that.  But as I dug through our closet to find the bag that normally holds all of it (along with our poster tubes), I managed to find a few very large costco sized rolls!  Yay!  So here is what I came up with:
I love the deep blue with the gold snowflakes on this paper.  But unfortunately I didn't have any gold paper to go with it!  So I used a kraftish colored paper that seemed to match pretty well.  I used the wrapping paper as my background and also for the flag panel.  I added some gold paint dots around the flag to help pull it away from the background a bit more, but it's kind of hard to see.

Our fabulous sponsor this week is Stamp Fairy and they have graciously offered images for the design team to use.  I have chosen Clementine Christmas!  Colored with my colored pencils and mounted on a scallop circle with an embossed center.

I added a small piece of ribbon to the flag and then glittered up a plastic snowflake to add to the top of my Merry Christmas sentiment flag.

I hope you will join us at Tuesday Throwdown this week!  Be sure to check out all the other design teams creations as they are absolutely fabulous!!  And remember you must use some sort of stamp, either digital or rubber, on your creation and you can enter up to 3 times!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

    Card Makin Mamas-Silver and Gold

Believe

Happy Monday everyone!!
We finally have snow!!  Granted it's not supposed to stay...but it still made a beautiful morning :)
Our weekend was packed with Christmas gift construction :)  It's hard to believe that our Christmas vacation is just a week and a half away!  Where on earth did the time go!?
How about you?  What gifts are you making this year?  Did you plan far enough ahead to get them all done in time?  I struggle with that somethings.  I always think I'll have more time than I actually do and then I end up pressed for time and pulling all nighters just to get them all done...lol :)

We're starting a new challenge theme this week at Digi Makeover and it's Sparkle!!  Who doesn't just love to add loads of sparkle to their cards?  Especially those Christmas cards!  Honestly, I'm not sure I ever make a card without having something sparkly on it :)
I added loads of glitter and stickles to this card.  The image I used is Madelyn from Paper Makeup.  I double matted her with blue and white cardstock and added blue stickles around the outside.

I punched out a few snowflakes and double layered them under large blue gem brads.  The large star is cut with my Cameo and I covered that with glitter as well :)  Then I printed and cut out the circle sentiment and adhered that to the center of the star.

Once everything was dry, I arranged all the snowflakes and star in the upper corner and decorated around them with a variety of blue gems.  I also dotted some more stickles around the blue paper for added sparkle :)

I hope you will join us this week at Digi Makeover!  The only requirement is that you use a digi!  Be sure to check out the rest of the makeup artists creations as they are absolutely fabulous!!

Tic Tac Toe

Happy Monday!!
I hope everyone's weekend was fabulous!  I've been feeling under the weather most of the week so we didn't do a whole lot.  But we did work on Christmas gifts which was a lot of fun!

This week at the Digi Makeover challenge we have a tic-tac-toe board for you!!
Look at those fun options!  Doesn't matter which row you chose, every item is fabulous!  I have used the first row on the board-Anything but a Card, Ribbon, Red.  Not doing cards can be hard for me...my thought process is so focused on cards all the time that trying to shift that can sometimes be difficult.  But I wanted to give it a shot.  So I started with something a little easier than normal for this challenge.
I made a bottle tag!  It's not crazy elaborate, but I think it turned out super cute!  And looks great on my Skinny Girl Cosmo bottle :)
I embossed the Kraft cardstock with one of my Spellbinders templates.  The corners of the background paper are punched with my MS Doily Lace edge punch.  I love how that turned out! I really wanted to do all the edges, but the way the punch is set up wouldn't allow me to.  So I just stuck with the corners :)

The images I used are the Framed Digi Set and one of the sentiments from the Season's Greetings Set.  The frame is layered up a few times.  I trimmed around the sentiment layer and then added some patterned paper behind it before cutting that out and layering it onto the rest of the frame.

I layered a few different ribbons together and completed it with a bow.  Cut out some holly leaves with my Cameo and made a few berries with some red cardstock.  I covered the berries in glossy accents and then sprinkled clear glitter over them so they sparkled!

Be sure to stop by the Digi Makeover challenge this week, check out all the fabulous creations from the makeup artists, and join in the fun!!
