Love and Valentine Cards

Happy Thursday everyone!
I have a few very cute cards to share with you today!  This first card I absolutely love!
The image is a Romeo and Juliet digi image that I won from Pixie Dust Studio (she has some absolutely adorable images there!  Check them out.)  I layered the image twice and then colored it in with my colored pencils.  I added some glitter to Juliet's headband, dress and the wings.  The heart I cut from the Cricut Wild Card cartridge and used my eyelet tool to make the holes bigger.
The frame background is cut from the French Manor cartridge.  All the additional cut lines I hid so that it was a solid cut.  I then embossed the white with my Spellbinders Pebbles template.  To give the paper a shimmer, I swiped silver paint over top, added some blue stickles to some of the squares and then added some stitching to the black.
I found the wings cut file online here and cut them out twice, using white glitter paper for the top.  I've been playing around with different paper rose styles and combined a few to come up with the style that I used on these flowers.  I absolutely love them!  I added some clear glitter to the tops so they sparkled!  It's so pretty!  I just love it so so much!

The second card I want to share is for Valentine's Day.  I decided to switch holidays already... :)
The sketch for this card was so simple that it really stumped me.  I tried several different elements and color combinations and nothing really seemed to work.  After I worked out my roses in the previous card, I loved them so much that I thought they would work out great for this card.  I cut out the heart background from the Paper Lace 2 cartridge and the sentiment from Holiday Cakes.  I put a little strip of ribbon across the top and stuck on the roses!  So beautiful!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Winter Snowman Banner

This is the project I mentioned in my post yesterday.  It is a snowflake "Winter" banner with snowmen!  The idea came to me as I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep a few days ago...that always seems to be the case.  I was so tired, but as soon as I started to think about the details, my mind just wouldn't shut off...
But I think it turned out so cute!
I cut everything out with my Cricut.  The snowmen on each letter are from the Snow Friends cartridge.  I love this cartridge!  Probably because I love snowmen :)
Banners aren't really something I make a lot of, but I wanted to try something new!  I also, for the first time, made rosettes!  Now those are fun!  They intimidated me when I first started seeing them around on projects.  I thought they would be difficult or I wouldn't have what I needed to make them stick together.  But wow...they were fun!  And so easy!
Instead of tying each snowflake together, I ran a single string of ribbon through rivets at the top and then added gems between the rivets to hold everything in place.  It added some bling without overtaking the whole banner!
Here's some up close pics:

Joyeux Noel

Sharing a Christmas card with you today.  Since we now live in Montreal where French is a dominate language, I wanted to incorporate that into a card.
I was a little unsure about all the elements as I was getting everything together.  The materials are all from my scrap stock so I was afraid the colors wouldn't match.  But I think it turned out fabulous!  The rosette is left over from a project I worked on the last few days that I will share tomorrow.  I've never made rosettes before so it was really fun trying that out.
The image is from my digi stamp collection.  I colored her really lightly with my purple colored pencil.  The fur trim around her jacket is lightly shaded with a blue colored pencil and then I sprinkled clear glitter over top so that it sparkled.  I love the coloring.  I really only have colored pencils so I try to do the best I can with what I have :)
Then I just added a few swirls that were cut out from the Cricut Cheerful Seasons cartridge, added some glitter glue and gems to the ends and put it all together!  Parfaite!

All White Card

Wow...it's really been 2 weeks since I last posted!!  :(  That makes me sad.  I've been working on my Christmas cards a lot the last few weeks, so that has taken up most of my time, but also I just haven't had any really impressive ideas pop into my head...I haven't been trying too hard either though.
But I'm happy to show you this card today.  I've been thinking a lot about my Etsy shop and how to promote my items and really get it going and one of the things I've been thinking about is making flowers.  I started with the roses on my Twilight card a few posts back, and those were so much fun!  But since it is Christmas, I wanted to do a Christmas flower.  And it seemed to just work perfectly for this card.
What a fabulous card!!  I love everything about it!  Well...I'm not sure about the sentiment at the bottom...using black ink doesn't really flow with the card.  It stands out a little too much...but I didn't have a good idea for the sentiment...couldn't use white :)  Maybe a pale peach or pink would have been better, but I don't have any markers/pens in those lighter colors so I would have had to print it...and I didn't think of that until it was already stuck down...oh well :)  The rest of the card makes up for it!
The beginning idea behind this card came from a challenge blog I came across a week or so ago-Stampin Sisters in Christ.  Their challenge this week is to include an angel on your project based on the scripture passage Matthew 1:20-22.  It was so wonderful reading through that blog posting about the best Christmas gifts.  Sometimes we need reminders.  It's easy to get caught up in the day and the troubles that arise and just let that frustration and anger fester.  But with forgiveness, kindness, time, love and a smile life gets better and we can put all that behind us.  I needed that reminder!
So with this card, I wanted the angel to stand out and obviously be the focal point of the card, but still have it be the Christmas theme.  I started by embossing the back frame with my Swiss Dots folder and mounting it on white card stock.  The middle banner is embossed with the D'vine Swirls folder and then I double embossed it by using some clear embossing powder to give it a shine and not just be a flat white pattern. I think it adds so much to the card!
The angel is cut out from a pearl white paper and a glitter paper for the wings.  I used the Cricut Christmas Solutions cartridge for her.  Then I used some glitter glue around her frame.
Then it was on to the flowers!  These were so much fun to make!  The petals are just a simple leaf shape.  I used my white gel pen to etch a vein down the middle for some detail.  I added some glitter glue to the petals after I had attached them and then cut really small strips of paper and curled them around a q-tip for some added embellishments around the poinsettias!
It's so lovely!
